Great location for camping with all needed amenities and three boat launches each having multiple ramps.

Great camping before or after your float. Three put-ins, a couple bathrooms, lots of campsites for small trailers and tents. Raccoons are a bit of a problem.

This is a great little campsite right on the Colorado river. It's a BLM campsite so it's quite a bit cheaper than normal national forest campsites in Colorado at only $10. There are multiple vaulted toilets, RV sites, tent sites, two group sites, potable water, and of course there is no cell service (if you drive about 4 miles east on the main road then you can get cell service). The sites were very clean with nice views. There are train tracks on the other side of the river and a few trains rumbled by in the night but it wasn't too bad. the views were beautiful. I'll be sure to make it back to this site someday.

Questions & Answers

What's the elevation? Can you recommend a nice long day hike not covered in snow?

Most trails here have huge elevation change. River trail is mostly good. The valley is clear. Snow starts at about 12 with some patches a little lower. Mostly clear. Good trout fishing right now.
