Cool place with a nice visitor center and helpful staff. The North Country Trail system runs through the wildlife so there is good hiking. Also places to fish on lakes in the wildlife and and access to the Otter Tail river system. Also has a nice scenic wildlife drive. If you go at late June there is windows in bloom. Be prepared for bugs/dirt roads/bad cell service.

I love the diversity there. Visit in spring and summer to see beautiful wild flowers and late fall for the colors. Lots of nature to see on the blackbird wildlife drive. Even saw otters there in 2020.

Beautiful reservation with so much going on all the time! A must see for the nature lover. Offers educational events too!

Well kept. A real nature preserve.

There is hunting on the refuge. You can view a hunting map and regulations on the website here: https://www.fws.gov/uploadedFiles/TMC2012Hunt(1).pdf
Boating is in the visitor use areas
Within 25 miles there is. For family camping I would suggest Birchmere on Little Toad Lake
No it is a National Wildlife refuge an you can not buy land within it. However you can buy land adjacent to it.
