This pool is constantly closed this year or closes early without notice. The locker rooms are never cleaned. Employees were parked in the handicap spots on the first day and they opened 20 minutes late. It's a joke now. I used to love this pool, but management is seriously lacking this year.

I just came today and the pool was closed. I have bought 2 memberships and during the process nobody informed me that the pool could be closed 35 minutes earlier. This is not the first time when it happened. This is not fair and honest practice. The weather was beautiful, so there was no excuse. I spoke with someone who introduced himself as a manager and his mom involved in the discussion and she is not an employee of the swimming pool; horrible experience. I haven't heard apologe, just explanations. I hope I will get partial reimbursement for my membership. Chicago, August 31st, 2022

We come because it’s close but not much to do. Took down the rock wall. And the guards aren’t the best. But you can bring any floats or toys you want which is unusual.

Pool was wonderful. Showers and restroom looked liked 1950. Still, the kids loved it

I think it is free the whole weekend.
But it stills opened at 11 am right??
Yes, there is a lot behind the pool. If you can find parking on Devon, it is a shorter walk.
No you can't even bring in outside food you have to buy their food
As far as I know it will be open starting Memorial day, you should call them to make sure, probably will open since Saturday memorial day weekend.
Yes. We've been a few times for the free day. Always the Saturday of Memorial Day Weekend. Their website confirms this.
Not till the second week of June if the weather permits
$7 for grown ups, $5 for kids 4 and up.
Yes.pool stays open during rain. Will only close to severe thunderstorm or lightning.
Yes, it is not free, but not real expensive either. Not sure the daily rate, but it's only like $100 for a whole summer family pass for 6. Swimsuits are required though...
Whealan Pool Aquatic Center will not open in 2021. It takes months of preparation to welcome visitors to our three aquatic centers each summer. Changing COVID-19 public health measures and uncertainty this winter and spring made this preparation impractical, and we made the difficult decision to keep the aquatic centers closed for the entire 2021 season. We’re sorry to miss another summer of fun with you and look forward to welcoming you back in 2022.

Aquatic centers will not open in 2021. Because of the extensive seasonal preparation required to operate the Forest Preserves aquatic centers, and the uncertainty in the winter and spring surrounding changing COVID-19 public health measures, we have decided to keep the aquatic centers closed for the entire 2021 season.
