Rented cabin #14 at Mountain Villas. I've never stayed here before, so didn't know what to expect. All villas are built on one middle support beam, with side (many are adjustable) poles / wooden legs in place. It took some time to learn to trust these side poles as the villa tilted a lot in the kitchen and living room areas. After figuring out that was "normal" we unpacked - very sparse, small kitchen, VERY dusty, but well maintained overall. Nice that they provided bath soap, coffee and dog treats! (This was one cabin that allowed dogs:) We also REALLY appreciated the deck where we could sit around a table outdoors. Many villas had very small decks that wouldn't even hold a table, so check this out in advance if it's important to you to enjoy the outdoors while there. On the downside, the plastic chairs on the deck were Extremely uncomfortable! I know they purchased them cheaply so no one walked away with them or in case they broke it wouldn't be too expensive to replace them, but damn...very sore butts indeed. But, like I said, at least we had a deck to enjoy. Good central place for the southern / eastern parts of SHT. Much more affordable than other places we found in Duluth - nice to be in the woods, although you hear a road near the place, it wasn't too bad.

Villa #3 is amazing! Beautiful view, quiet and clean. The 2 person Jacuzzi tub was nice and the steam shower a major bonus! Fireplace kept us cozy too! Will defiantly be back!

Booked this place for Monday to find out spirit mountain was closed so we ended up renting Sunday so we could at least ride one day . Unfortunately spirt lost power and the lifts shut down for almost the whole day. This place is pretty sweet as we renting the loony bin and it’s ski in and ski out however after going out in town we came back and wanted to put our own sheets on the bed to find out that the sheets they used were stained with pee and not replaced . The mattress was also flipped Upside down so if we never checked we would have been sleeping on the uncomfortable side of the bed with pee sheets thank god I brought my own sheets and bedding . The mattress it self was also stained with pee in multiple spots. Needless to say as cool as this place is you might wanna just get a hotel in town or double check the bedding before sleeping here for night !
