I’m not a current resident but was interested in this apartment complex. Erica Brown gave us such a good tour and was so helpful and fun throughout the process! Tbh since I don’t live here this is more of a review about her than the building but I just wanted to express my appreciation for such a wonderful experience!

After two years, and weathering the pandemic, we are sad to leave MDCCA. Nigel and the staff have been doing a great job in a challenging time, and he has done a great job of increasing the level of service. People pay a lot of attention to the North Loop, but since we moved to the Mill District 3 apartment buildings have gone up within 2 blocks, with another huge development on the riverfront. If you like taking long walks outside, but still want to be active in city life, you'll like this spot. The Stone Arch Bridge, Gold Medal Park, Mill City museum, the Guthrie, US Bank Stadium, and the Mississippi River- plus the Sioux Chef's new restaurant, Owamni!

If your safety is important, don’t live here. If you want to be cared for, don’t live here. If communication and proper management is important to you, don’t live here. 1. Communication is extremely poor. A. A single sheet of paper are placed on elevator doors to inform tenants of locked doors, planned fire alarms, etc. I. Due to technical issues, our key fobs were not working for days to weeks. We reached out to get a replacement and was turned away. Turned away. So to them, my safety is not important, just my money. To them, other people are more important than me. I was locked out of the building during a city lockdown, I saw a paper sign stating to use the only available door. I went there and it was fully locked. Thank god my SO was there to help me II. A test fire drill went off during the day with, again a paper sign on the elevators. Not a real fire drill but a practice test. My SO and I are working from home like many of us with important meeting and tasks are forced to evacuate. First, that’s unfair because communication needs to be provided to tenants about a PRACTICE fire drill to prevent injuries, avoid panic, and be respectful to work schedules. 2. Security is very poor A. Many of my packages have been stolen. There are times where the package room door will be wide open, so anyone can take anything. So say goodbye to monthly subscriptions. B. There are many times where homeless people will sleep, clean, or relax in the community area AND inside the apartment building. C. Many people will sneak in through the garage doors and will steal items and cars or just plain break into your car. And we don’t have camera so good luck with that mess. 3. Maintenance A. It would take many many emails to get anything fixed. We had to suffer in 88-90 degree weather in the summer because they didn’t constitute a broken AC as an emergency. Our current unit had a leaking/non-functioning washer and again many emails and threatening to break our lease. We did receive a replacement however the maintenance staff was rude, arrogant and inconsiderate then entire time. B. There will be poop everywhere on the lawns. Dead animals decomposing on the courtyards sidewalk or community area. Hot tub is just plain disgusting. This is only a scratch of it. Overall, yes the location is great and being so close to the stone arch bridge and zen house is amazing. But the cons outweigh the pros so much. Do not move here.

I'll start with the good: the location is wonderful and the courtyard is amazing and very convenient for late night dog duty. In my time here I have been locked in the elevator for half an hour, ignored when I emailed saying I would break my lease to get out of this place, left without AC in 90 degree weather for 5 days (considered an "emergency" according to their maintenance system), seen four building managers come and go, etc. Currently, there is a car that's been broken into in the garage. The shattered glass has been sitting there for at least four days. The hot water is out and since the "unit is from Italy" it will take a while to replace. We've been waiting on lights in the dimly lit, and frankly scary, garage for weeks. All residents' electronic keys failed during a city-wide curfew and did not start working for a week. Last week we had a fire alarm test from 1pm-3pm. Alarms were going off in the building and in individual apartments in the middle of the work day. When confronted by 8+ angry residents management claimed to have emailed everyone. No one got an email. It also isn't infrequent for homeless people to sleep in the lobby bathroom and club room. When I mentioned this to management they denied this has happened more than once, which I know for a fact is false. Every single time I've spoken to management about a problem I'm having I've been met with excuses and blatant lies. Please don't move here.
