If you want to have fun horse riding, book it!! The ranch buildings might not be as picturesque or fancy as some other ranches I've seen, but the riding program is top notch and caters for all levels. My 9yo son who has never ridden before was cantering / loping on day 3. They offer three different horse activities each morning and afternoon - this includes cattle work, barrel racing, obstacle course, trail rides, liberty (ground work) etc. The cabins are nice and comfortable, food is good and plentiful and staff is very friendly! We'll definitely return to this place! PS: We went in mid July and it was very hot outside!

Amazing!! I am a beginner and by day 3 I was cantering. The horses were so cool. They love to ride and Anna does such a wonderful job picking them out for you. The food is great, 3 square meals a day and it's always at the right time. This is not nose to tail riding!!! It's let's go here and have fun on your horse. Julia was our guide/teacher and I couldn't have learned all that I did without her amazing instructions. This is a place for any ridding ability and they will do anything to make you comfortable on a horse. I really can't say enough wonderful things about this place!!

My stay at Rocking Z was the trip of a lifetime. I was able to live out a dream that I had as a young child. In addition, this was my first vacation alone and the family (which includes everyone who works there) took me in like I was one of their own. The perfect trip for all ages and all riding abilities. I have been home less than 12 hours and I am already planning my next trip. Love all you guys, especially Nugget!

Ride for an afternoon or stay for a week...the Rocking Z welcomes you with authentic hospitality, a stunning location, and incredible horses. As a local family, we came to give our girls (ages 6 and 8) their first trail riding/cattle ranch experience. From horse selection to patient instruction, my girls had a wonderful experience in varied terrain learning from Patty, Anna, and Bridget at every step. My girls are already talking about when they can return. Thank you for a spectacular afternoon!

Thank you for your query! We do not have an official "cattle drive," however we do work cattle several times a week throughout the summer, and at least once a week in the fringe seasons. Working cattle tends to be a little faster than a drive, as you can lope/canter when working cattle where that is comparatively rare when driving them from pasture to pasture. We hope that answers your question!
