A great program to help you get back on your feet, and help you find a job and a place to live.

For desperate people with no other options that would allow these people to control them. I've seen a staff member curse an elderly couple so bad it almost made me react. I left that place because im not about to allow anyone to control me nor disrespect me at all. They wake you up at 5 in the morning and you can't go in the building (Bed Areas) until 7pm. If you spend any of your money they will kick you on the streets.

I used to work there,so I can't really say nothing negative about them except the fact that they need more space to expand.

I'm rating based on a donation I made. I donated two boxes with over $300 worth of brand new items and was given tax paperwork stating my $300 donation was only worth $10. I will never donate to this location again and I strongly urge others to think twice before donating anything here. I wonder if the people using the shelter will even get any of it, it seems like one of those type of shelters. I would recommend donating to the rescue mission over this place.

You can call our shelter at anytime 760-245-5991 and speak with our staff to find out about our shelter program or you can come by anytime the address is 14049 Amargosa Road in Victorville. We are open 24 hours a day. It is usually best to call first just to make sure we have an open bed.
Yes we do accept clothing. We appreciate slightly used and interview clothing so that we can put them in our clothing closet to help our clients get back on their feet.
Is there anything you prefer not to take as donations ??? Is there anything you NEED more of constantly ???
Call the shelter at 760-245-5991 24 hours a day and they will answer any questions you might have or you can drop by anytime during the week and speak with any of our staff and they can help you.
Depends if they r full or not but they take walk ins
Yes you will have to go through a back ground check and drug and alcohol test...it's a pretty cool place. You will gain weight trust and believe that. They feed you really good. My hubby and i stayed there for about a month and a half and we both gained about 25- 30 pounds lol
Don't go to this one. It sucks. They find ways to kick you out over the smallest thing. EVERYONE is on a power trip there.
Yes they are in good condition
We usually do just before Christmas and Easter, however we do not have a lot of room to store them. We truly appreciate you thinking about us though. Do you have a bunch or just a few?
Yes we will be serving Thanksgiving dinner and you must come to the shelter and fill out the volunteer applications and bring ID for everyone 18 yrs or older thank you and have a Blessed and beautiful day.
The sheriff's department will occasionally fund a greyhound for residents from other cities. They have computers available for job searcch and staff will lead you in the right direction upon request. Government assistance and a staffing agencies are within reasonable walking distance.
If you call United Way 211 you can let them know what area you are at and they can give you times and locations for food banks near you. You can also look it up yourself on their website www.211.org
We are not a food bank that actually requires a different license then we have. We are a 90 day shelter program that helps families get back into employment and housing. We do have a list of local food banks that we handout to anyone coming in looking for help with food. You can always call United Way 211 and they will give you a list of all the food banks near you.
The shelter is a family shelter and we help men, women and children of all ages. We have even had a few newborns brought here from the hospital. If your question is in regards to homeless youth without parents or guardians you can try Family Assistance Program or the TAY Program.
This is a homeless place not vicious alcohol test and drug access for the disabled I don't know of service dogs record Cleansed
I am so sorry, but at this time we do not as we do not have a large enough site with storage to hold on to them until our clients move into their own housing. We truly appreciate you thinking of us. If you would like to reach out to God's Hand Extended at 760-220-1961 they could probably help coordinate a wonderful option for your generous donation.
You're tripping I just got out of there me my wife and son....and they were nothing but respectful...
Thank you for thinking of us. We usually do but right now we have been so blessed we have run out of room.
Yes, we do thank you. We are so grateful that you are thinking of us and wish to help. There is nothing we cannot accomplish if we all work together.

We have limited our intake of clothing donations and only take a little at a time, as needed. Due to COVID we are very limited on space for excess donations. We had to rearrange areas of the shelter so that we can help as many people as possible. If you would like to call our staff at 760-245-5991 to see if it is something we are in need of we would appreciate it very much. Thank you so very much for thinking about us.
Yes we have limited parking

So if you are working already, then you are one step up already.
We do have vouchers for DMV that help the homeless to get their IDs for free. They have to be verified homeless in order for us to give them out.
We do not have any animals here at are shelter. We only help homeless. There are many animal rescues that would appreciate the donation. If you are looking to donate to the homeless individuals that are not staying in shelter because they have animals then you might want to reach out to God's Hand Extended to see if they possibly could help you disperse it through them.
Sorry, we are currently not accepting donations. We had to convert our donation room and our child care rooms into COVID-19 quarantine rooms in order to keep our residents safe and be able to do new intakes. You can probably call the Victor Valley Rescue Mission they are accepting donations and will possibly pick up for you. Thank you so much for thinking of us.

Daisy clients who stay here are provided everything they need including shelter, meals, clothing, hygiene and additional items that are needed. This is provided free of charge. Clients that stay here do chores that include cleaning up after themselves, washing dishes, disinfecting, laundry and things you would do if you were in your own house.

You can look for employment, if you're already employed, you can look for homes. Periodically volunteer barbers will come cut your hair, and there is clothing to help you on your interviews should you have one. I don't believe this is true. You can stay up to 90 days
Yes
If you are looking for roommate or have information that you would like to give in regards to housing or employment I would suggest that you either come to the shelter in person and talk with Ms. Pat. She is our Employment/Housing Specialist and she works with the clients trying to help them find employment and housing. She would be the best one to help pass on this information and help find a suitable match. She is her in the resource room M-Th 8am-2pm or you can call the shelter at 760-245-5991.
We are a 90 day shelter program. When you enroll into our program you agree to do a minimum of 25 job searches a week and if you are employed you agree to do housing searches. You must either be in our job resource room onsite working on this each day Monday thru Friday between 9am-12pm or you have to be out in the community doing so. We do have a curfew of 7pm every night. We do have a small cubby area in the dorms for you to leave your belongings in. You only need to take with you the items needed for the day. Lunch is served at 12pm and dinner is served at 5pm.
Thank you, Christie Martin 24/7 Headline News and Yellow Taxi Cab Inc! I appreciate you both for taking the time to answer my question. Your responses are very helpful!
We do not allow animals of any kind. Sometimes we have been able to put animals in foster care with local rescue until clients leave shelter. The children have to be with you at all times on shelter property, unless they are checked into the Shelter Family Day Care while you are working on job searching. At night the boys under 10 and all girls sleep in the same dorm room with the mom and boys over 10 sleep in teen boy dorm that is 20 feet away. Men with kids is different and either go in the teen boy dorm, resource room or something different that can be worked out.
Thank you Gale for your information
You are not separated from your boys, unless they are over 10 then we have them sleep in the teen boy dorm (which is in same building with minimal separation from you only while they are sleeping). This is to keep the young boys/teen boys from being exposed to anything visually inappropriate. The women sometimes forget that there are boys in the women with children dorm and expose themselves. We try our best to keep everyone safe from all harm and that could be detrimental to a young boy.

I dont work there but i did live there for 2 months. It was a great program. They help men and women in domestic violence situations however they accept othets as well. I didnt have DV and was allowed to stay there. Its based on a case by case. Your best bet is to give them a call and tell them your situation. They usually have space from my experience but sometimes the fill up. Dont be discouraged just keep looking. I wish you the best.
No the place is bad
