beautiful place, but too many people, practically nowhere to be and I knew there was a fight almost as soon as we left, I guess because most of the people there were teenagers. another thing is that there are many shell and you hurt your feet easily, the truth is that I have never seen so many shell on a beach.

So we went there at 6 in the morning to watch the sunrise and it was magical 😍 I have never been any beach before. Everything seemed so perfect to me although the weather was little cold and windy.

Amazing beach. So clean, so beautiful!! Make sure you bring sunscreen and shade if you burn easy as there is no shade anywhere on the beach. Low tide exposes a sand bar path to the island. If you need a beach day you need to go here. Super easy to get to from I95 just follow the signs

Absolutely beautiful place to visit. Gorgeous views in all directions. Perfect for taking pictures. The boardwalk is fantastic and an excellent place to walk or push a stroller. The beach is rocky and shelly and I would suggest water shoes. However, once in the water the sand is smooth. Low tide is amazing as you can walk way out. Fun finding shells, crabs, snails, many different birds - when walking along the boardwalk we looked over and saw hundreds of little crabs running in the mud! The bathhouse is gorgeous and the cleanest I've ever seen. I think there are concessions but none on the weekday in the summer that I was there. There were several lifeguards on duty and they were enforcing no balls or skim boards in the water. Also no walking on the sandbar covered in water - apparently it's very dangerous to do so. Parking was free for CT residents and out of state had to pay a fee. All in all this place is a must visit. I would highly recommend!

Pets are permitted in the park on a leash no longer than 7 feet in length but are NOT permitted on the beach or boardwalk areas.
What are you talking about the fees? Because of the passport to park program, there is no longer a fee for CT residents to park. So what are the entrance fees being mentioned here? There shouldn’t be any at all.
Yes, it is free to park and go on the beach. The beaches on either side have for a fee parking that are closer to the water.
Near the waterline there can be a lot of shells, especially at low tide. Farther away from the waterline it is pretty smooth
I believe it is ok now. You need to check on the department of energy and Environmental Protection website which should tell you which beaches are open and which are closed..
Parking is currently free. They are building a ticket booth for fee collection in the future. If you are a CT resident with valid CT vehicle registration your parking fee is covered by the $10 Passport to the Parks surcharge added to registration renewal and you will not be charged at the gate. If you are from out of state or have out of state plates, you will be charged.
There are spots at Walnut Beach and also a pavilion and restrooms. Walnut Beach connects to Silver Sands. Parking is free on the street. There are also a few tables at the bridge entrance at Silver Sands near Charles Island. Hope this helps! 😀
