We had an adventure. I had a wonderful time. The staff, river guides, are phenomenal! Shout out to Zombie, Mother Goose(Diane), and the other staff. The river rapids were challenging, fun with low risk and high reward. The other family groups/rafts were friendly and there was playful pirate activity(water bucket fights) along the way. The base camp had great food - everything from breakfast sandwiches(made fresh real food NOT prepackaged) to fried oreos!! My second time rafting with Whitewater Challengers and I will be trying to get another group to go again before the end of the summer.

We had a good time on this trip. That being said, when we've gone on this same trip previously without kids (many years ago), there were far fewer rafts than the number we were with (18!). With only 3-4 guides (one in front, one in back and one or two floating in the middle), many of us didn't know what was going on or where to catch the best rapids. The two or three rafts in front heard the lead guide, but nobody else could hear his voice. This trip would have been far better with fewer boats, or more guides. Not sure we would do it again with Whitewater Challengers for this reason. I understand the company can book that many rafts and it's all about the mighty dollar as a business, but the clients should come first. There were also 2-3 "teenage" rafts that were splashing each other the whole time and not paddling, with many other rafts unable to follow simple directions like "single file" or others, making a lot of the rafts group together, crash into one another, push each other out of the sometimes narrow rapid passageways for the best spots, etc. with no repercussions for anyone. They need to hire more people, or better yet, only have about 8-10 rafts per group for a better experience...they'll still make tons of money!

I don't think I could have asked for nicer, more thorough instructor guides for my first time river rafting. I had an amazing time and the guides did a great job making sure the groups were together and in good shape. Going back for next years vacation as well!!

This is my second trip to this camp site and my first rafting experience. The campsite has all the amenities a family might need. The rafting was great (prepared to be on the water half a day) and the guides friendly and professional. Unfortunately the buses they have to transport groups to and from the river are super old and uncomfortable. The seats are meant for children but groups are mainly adults.

It depends on the trip you choose and what section of the river you are on. Our Premier Trips on the Upper Lehigh Gorge have about a 15 minute shuttle to the river and about 5 minutes back to the rafting center. Our Family Style trips which is further South have a longer shuttle time, 30+ minutes.
We are Class 2-3 Lana, depending on water levels, etc.
No lifeguards but you have to wear a life vest. I was just there this weekend. I wasn't drowning but being 4'11 they allow you to jump out the rafts at different locations. Most times it's not deep and easy to get back in the raft. The last time I jumped out and went down deep lol let's just say it was hard to get back in the raft. For 10 mins my cousins tried pulling me up but I was laughing uncontrollably so I don't think it helped with adding more weight. Anyways the guide came back and after a little laughing guided me on how to get back in being so short. Once I stopped laughing I got in immediately. I had big dave, mohawk dave, I believe his name was Boa but I referred to him as Tarzan and two awesome ladies can't recall their names because my raft kept up with Big dav and tarzan most of the time. I wouldn't worry to much. They had rafts with kids between maybe 6-8 as well. It's an awesome time and a great bonding experience.
Hey There, Stanley. If you follow this link you can find comprehensive rates for all the trips we run along the Lehigh River on the weekdays and weekends. Once you click through on the booking button, you'll be able to see all the rafting times we have available for next weekend. I hope that helps. We'll see ya on the river.
No, sorry. But if you bring your own raft and launch from the public put in, your dog can come along
Yeah! The one i went on, had two children of ages 5 and 6. They had a blast the entire time. Just make sure to select the family rafting.
Our inflatable kayak trips run separate from the rafting trips. You may encounter other groups of rafts on the river for short periods of time but launching, lunch and take out will be separate from them.
