I went here last Tuesday and my experience was great. Everyone was very kind and orderly- from the guard in the downstairs lobby to all the staff working upstairs. I was surprised by how fast the lines moved. After getting through the initial line to get appointment registered, and my documents gathered together by one of the staff, I was directed to have a seat and wait for my number to be called. I hadn't even had time to sit in my seat before my number was called and my application and payment were collected. I had an 8am appointment and was out by about 9:40. They told me to return at 12pm to pick up my passport. One thing that is very important to note is that EVERYONE is told to return at 12 so that there is enough time for everyone to receive their stuff before they close. The pick up lines also moved quick as the guards had people streaming continuously to the pick up windows to check if their passports were ready. I wasn't one of the lucky ones who's passport was ready when I went up to the window the first time, so I had to wait for my name to be called. It took an additional 30 minutes for my name to be called. So, by 1pm, I left with a freshly printed passport! (: I saw a few people can get frustrated about having to wait or having to go through multiple steps to get a passport, but one important thing to remember is that in most cases, the passport agency did not put us in the place where we needed to get emergency passports. They offer the service of helping us get what we need within a day and I think that's something we should appreciate regardless of how many hoops we need to jump through. P.S. bring a mask!

My local USPS did not notice that my son's application was cut off at the bottom and submitted it. Weeks passed by with no movement on the status other than received, I called in to expedite. The next the day I received a call from the Miami Passport agency to say that the expedite was received and that my son's application was there but that I had to resubmit a new application because the application was cut off at the bottom. I did so the next day with overnight shipping.... fast forward to the Thursday before we had to travel and still no news on the new application that was overnighted. Family of 12 traveling internationally that Monday and my 8 year old sold was the only one still without his passport we were literally 2 business day away from our flight I started to freak out. Came on here to read reviews to see if there was anything I could do because of course calling in 2 weeks prior to my flight there was no in-person appointment in Miami until after our travel date which was not going to work. They tried to say we could go to GA for an appointment also just not an option for us. I came on here to read advice left on the comments I read to contact my local congress woman for my district, definitely just desperate move and taking a long shot because I had never heard of this before and I had no other choices left. Their office answered right away and they were so kind. They emailed me a disclosure that I filled out right away and sent back and they confirmed was received and they were working on it ( it was 3:30pm) and I went to sleep that night not knowing if it was going to work out or not. I know that without my Local Congress woman's help Lois Frankel I would have not gotten my son's passport on time. I did have a nice experience with the staff at the Miami Passport agency. Millie "my angel" at the Miami Passport Agency called me Friday morning at 6:45am to tell me to come in with dad and son as soon as I could and I had until 10am to get there (my drive was 1.5 hours). My prayers were answered that morning and we made it there just in time at 9:45am and by 1:45pm we has my sons passport in my hands! Honestly very straightforward and easy. Follow the directions and you'll be good. The security and staff are helpful and friendly. Honestly very surprised and happy with my experience. I had appt and still waited about an hour to see clerk. There are about 100 people per day getting Passport. Have to come back at 1pm to pickup Passport.

The review is not based on the office or is employee but the process itself. We needed an emergency passport renewal because our flight was four days out. There is no online appointment available at this time. The person that stated that he got an appointment at midnight is lying. I tried to call the phone number provided on their website before 8 am EST and no one answer but a machine stating to call back during business hours. So I called back exactly at 8 am and finally got through. After a 35 minute hold, I finally got to speak with a live person. She immediately advised me that I can not make an appointment unless it is within three days of my trip (good thing it was four days from now). HERE'S THE BAD NEWS. She couldn't find an appointment within that week at the Miami location. She told me the closest appointment was either Puerto Rico, Texas, or Hawaii. Of course this all happened after I waited in line at 630 in the morning. SO DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME TRYING TO GET A WALK UP APPOINTMENT, THEY WON'T LET YOU IN.

As far I know a passport regular fee is $80 an it will last about 10 to 12 weeks. If you pay an extra $60 the time will reduce to 4 to 6 weeks.

Yes you can fairly easily I'f you are able to get an appointment. Call the 1800 number. They will say to have a flight number and call 2weeks before the flight. Make sure .....make sure you call on the day that it's 2weeks. They will tell you the day to call. And on that day call right the moment they open. So you are guaranteed am appointment. It will take but 3 hours to get you a passport. Good luck and yes in Miami. I would park at the Checkers or Burger King next-door. Save you the parking fees
Also, you can call to the passport agency number at 12;00 am and follow this options: first press 1+1+2 you will get an invalid message, wait a second and they will give you the option to make an appointment. I got my appointment doing that. try to start at 11:59 pm.

It seemed to me they make everyone's passport at 1pm. I was able to get out of there by 1:40 and I was at the airport by 2pm. Perhaps you can ask nicely if they can get it done sooner but from what I observed is they do all the processing in the morning and then print them before 1 and tell everyone to return at 1pm for pickup

Good morning, try to schedule an appointment, if you're unsuccessful, then visit the passport office if you're traveling within two weeks during the application hours (Miami Office 630am - 1030am) make sure you have your locator # provided from your original application and all copies of the necessary documentations.

You literally have to keep calling until you get a person. It took me 45 minutes of continously redailing before I got a person. The lines are ridiculous once you get here. You have to have a mask also.

I suggest you visit any passport agency behind the Down Town Hilton in Biscayne, there's one there, apply for an emergency and they do it for you.
Yes, depending on your travel date. If you are traveling in 3 days or less they will give it to you same day (be prepared to wait 3+ hours). If you are traveling in the next 5 days they may ask you to return tomorrow to pick it up.

Hi there they do not accept walk-ins. I flew there and the security guard advised to continuously call untill getting a Miami appointment. It took me almost 3 hours of hanging up and immediately calling back. Even if you get a later appointment I suggest arriving at 8am so you have a higher chance of getting same day passport. Yes. But you have to call to make an appointment no matter the issue. I had an appointment set for the same day I had a flight to the bahamas. I had all my documents in hand and an appointment (which must be done by phone). Everything was processed and my passport was given to me around noon. If you don't have an appointment, the security guard will NOT let you in no matter what.
