The beach was "ok", but a resident (I will reserve her ethnicity) made my family feel extremely uncomfortable asking questions like "how did you guys hear about this beach??", "where do you live??", what do you work???" and asking us (more than twice) not to tell anyone else about this beach!!! THE NERVES..!!!

Bayley Beach is located in Rowayton and is a part of Norwalk 6th taxing district. It is smaller than the other Norwalk beaches and is open to residence of Rowayton who have their Beach stickers. Non-residents can enjoy the beach for a fee of $25 at the gate. The pavilion is a wonderful place for parties and can be rented for various activities. The beach closes at 9 p.m. during the summer hours and no dogs are allowed on the beach property during the summer months. It is kept very clean and is extremely welcoming, there is even a small area located under the pavilion stocked with books if you would like to do some light reading in one of their many lounge chairs. You are allowed to cook at this beach but only in a designated area on beach supplied outdoor grills which utilizes charcoal. there is plenty of parking considering the size of the beach, tennis courts, a baseball field, and on some nights there is even live music.

Nice beach! Sand a little rough and there are typically bigger shells you have to walk over, but overall perfect New England beach! Grills available and the snack shop is a must.

Very small, family friendly beach that's quiet. It's also rocky and the sand is filled with shells so it's hard on the feet without water shoes. I would not recommend this beach because there is no where to walk so you're stuck once you pay the parking fee to get in. Many of the CT beaches that are open to non-residents are either too expensive to park or closed on Monday's (which is ridiculous!) so it was slim pickens.

As long as you have a saltwater fishing license and observe the rules you probably can. Currently the blackfish season is closed.
There is a concrete sidewalk to the beach but then there is one big step. We've recently been looking at options but nothing implemented yet.
To drive a car into Bayley, the fee is $40 on concert days. You can find more details on the 6TD's website www.Rowayton6TD.com
Only during the summer… from September to May, it's free
You do not have to be a resident to see them and Bayley is open to the public. Those without the resident Bayley Beach stickers do pay an entry fee. $40/per car today. The fee can be paid in cash or credit card. Cars are allowed to enter on a space available basis. We are expecting a busy day so the lot will likely fill up early. If so, please park at Rowayton School and walk to Bayley. There is a small entry fee for pedestrians.
Very nice ... it's spelled Bayley
