The trail is great. It’s a nice walk in nature. They have little exhibits throughout the trail with taxidermy animals which is pretty cool. But I have to give it a two because the conditions that the live animals are in are horrible. The cages are so tiny. The animals look miserable. The bald eagles cage in particular was just so sad to see. They’re big animals in these tiny cages. I happened to walk through the trail when a squall hit. I just can’t imagine that this bald eagle had no protection or anywhere to go had to endure this weather in his tiny cage. Awful.

Great place to take the family, and see the view.. the traffic going over the bridge is horrible but not a reflection on the zoo itself. Highly recommend.

Nice state park with free zoo and museums with $10 vehicle parking, free if you have a valid Empire Pass.

Had a great time here. Very big park and a lot of history and nice place to paddle boat. Has a very high pool and the zoo is very nice mad has really cool animals there.

There is a huge parking lot in between the Bear Inn and the National Park Office. It is a 10 minute walk from the zoo.
$1 per person suggested donation. $10 for parking at Bear Mountain State Park. I don't think there is any separate parking for the zoo.

Yes. They're not restricted and there are paved paths throughout which make it easy to get through with one. The access that crosses under the street has a ramp so you can use the stroller the whole time. The only consideration is that some areas are hilly so keep that in mind if your children are big (or make them get out and walk, if possible!).
Huh. Employee of the park here. To my knowledge they should be open right now, but perhaps they were at capacity. They open at 10:30.
It is free. There is a contribution box to helo the museum out.
