Me, my partner, and our dogs really enjoyed going here. The major complaint is that during peak season, dogs are only allowed from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. which is a bit of a slap in the face if you have to drive more than 15 minutes to get there.

We had an amazing time at the dog beach! Our pup was nervous at first but all the dogs were very friendly and everyone was enjoying the sun and sand. We parked on the street but there is a closer parking lot right next to the beach, unsure if this paid or unpaid. We will definitely be back!

Dogs can go onto the Asbury boardwalk and dog beach all day, starting 9/16 through 5/15. Controlled unleashed dogs at all times.
Yes, during season they're only allowed before 8:30am and after 6pm. Off-season they're allowed anytime.
From now through the summer and until Sept. 14, dogs may be on the 8th street beach in Asbury Park between the hours of 6:00 pm until 8:30 am.
As of August 1st,2021, dogs are not allowed on the boardwalk but can be on the beach only @ 8th/9th street from 6 pm - 8:30 am only (but several show up between 5 & 6 pm...technically, they could be fined if they're there before 6). A day beach pass is $6 if you buy it at the 8th street booth (8th street and the boardwalk). I think it's $7.50 if you buy it through their mobile app ($1.50 "convenience" fee.}. Nearby parking is $0.25 per quarter hour (use their Asbury Park mobile app). If you're willing to walk just a few blocks, there's free parking in the residential area on the other side of Deal Lake.
In the morning till 8:30am and after 6pm I believe. Not sure what will change after Memorial Weekend.
