Here, you can find a community of people who are working to make our area a better place to live, with green spaces, hiking trails, and helping to keep our local flora and fauna abundant and vigorous. They also offer many different kinds of outdoor activities, including local day hikes, backpacking trips, mountaineering, ski touring, and kayaking. A bunch of great folks and all are welcome!

Great, like-minded folks here who enjoy the outdoors and work actively on environmental issues. I'm a long-time Sierra Club member who leads hikes and participates various local committees.

I have been involved with the Loma Prieta Chapter of the Sierra Club since 2008. Volunteering with the organization has been a great pleasure and I have met a number of amazing community leaders. I enjoy their hikes and opportunities to get outside, but I really appreciate their political endorsements and advocacy for environmental justice here in the South Bay and Peninsula. Very welcoming to all seeking to just hike or become a leader.

Sierra Club National suspended all hikes starting in Mar 2020. A few groups have restarted hikes under new guidance. You can find all of those on our Chapter Calendar at https://www.sierraclub.org/loma-prieta/calendar. Happy Trails, James Eggers Chapter Director

Are California chapters of the Sierra Club opposing widening of the highway through Richardson Grove in the Redwoods for trucks? At least 30 redwood trees will be downed - more threated. Is there no opposition from the Sierra Club?

The 4 photos are not in the Loma Prieta chapter. Why are these used?

Hi John, The first two photos are indeed locations within Loma Prieta Chapter: Crystal Springs and Montara Mountain, respectively. The two other photos were contributed by our Outings Chair, I presume from Chapter outings. Since you know both the people who posted those photos, it would have been faster and more effective for you to have asked them personally rather than here.
