During my move, I was extorted by the crew (2 males). They cornered me out of everyone's ears and told me that they wanted to know how much tip I was going to pay them before they considered moving certain items. Specifically, they said they wouldn't move anything that's not in a box but if I would pay them good money they'd slip it in without their manager knowing. I was extremely tired from the stress of moving and simply didn't have the mental energy to cope with the extortion when it happened, so I let them extort me. I ended up paying 80 additional dollars in cash directly to them because I feared I'd have to deal with an incomplete move. After the move when I regained clarity, I was furious about their behavior. This was an outrageous misconduct and I'm enraged that these folks take advantage of people under stress. They should face consequences. It seems like the crew was doing this covertly, but just the fact that they hire such people is an unacceptable failure on the management's part. I cannot endorse a moving company that uses such unprofessional bullies as their crew. --------------------------- UPDATE: The manager Dimitris contacted me after the review and made an earnest effort to make amends for the incident. What happened is what happened, and I cannot change it. But I appreciate his effort and believe that the incident won't be repeated in the future, thus raising my score from 1 to 2.

Setting up a moving date and getting an initial quote was very easy. They're very responsive which makes planning a lot easier! The moving crew was right on time, extremely friendly and respectful. I had quite a few pieces of furniture which they packed up very quickly/efficiently. All of my furniture arrived in the exact condition in which they left and the crew put together all pieces that required reassembly with ease. I would definitely recommend! Lovely group of people!

These guys were great. Packed up a lot of big, heavy, and awkward furniture and moved it from our 3 bedroom home to our new house in perfect condition. Even let us take a handful of their blankets to keep some out stored furniture protected! Professional, great quality, and reasonably priced. NJ Local Moving helped us with a move from Morris County to Somerset County. They arrived promptly and worked hard to move all of our furniture and belongings. This included our piano which they needed to carefully bring down the stairs and then onto the truck. All furniture they dismantled and wrapped in thick blankets, and on the other end put back together professionally. Michael, Dimitri and their team were very friendly and easy to communicate with, especially when telling them where they things go. One gentleman even helped us break apart and dispose of a box spring that we no longer needed. They were true to their word and honored everything we agreed to at the outset (no bait and switch, or dragging out the work). A few years back my wife and I had a bad experience with another moving company and we were dreading going through the experience again, but NJ Local Moving restored our belief that there are still genuine, honest, hard working people in this world. We would wholeheartedly recommend them to our friends, family and everyone. And we wouldn't hesitate to contact them again should the need arise. I wish them all the best. Cheers!
