Thumbtack takes zero interest in their professionals. They allowed unlicensed, illegal business to be promoted on their site. They do zero vetting. They also repeatedly pull bait and switch tactics. They tell customers one thing and professionals the exact opposite. As long as they get money from professionals, they don't care what happens to them. Thumbtack's illegal tactics are now costing our business money, clients, and ratings.

This lead service for contractors is an absolute joke! In my almost 30 years of being in the construction trade, I have NEVER seen such rotten customer service. I had a few issues regarding my pro account and they needed to talk to a customer service person. I had called in the past was able to speak with someone. Well this time, not so fast. Evidently, Thumbtack has determined that giving their customers access to a customer service representative was a luxury their paying pro contractors no longer deserved. First, they require you to engage in a text conversation which I was okay with at first. But after answering question by their automated system, it took 31 minutes for an actual person to respond. Being a person trying to run a business, I don't have 31 minutes to sit and wait for "Gabriel" to respond. When I did see the text, I responded but by then, it was took late. I had to start over and have the same conversation with their automated system. This time it took "Michelle" 41 minutes to respond. But this time I was ready and told her that I needed to speak to an actual human being on the phone because it would take me 20 minutes to type out what I needed to explain. And with the amount of time I'd have to wait in-between messages, a 10 minute phone conversation would have taken 8 hours via text messaging. "Michelle" then told me that phone calls are " limited to several Pros only". Not too sure what "several Pros only" means but I guess I'm not one of them. As much of a rip off as Home Advisor (Angi Leads) is, I always got to speak to a human and resolve any issue I had in a timely manner. Thumbtack is nothing more than despicable corporate greed at it's finest!

Scammers corporate scammers sending fake leads to pros. Paid over $3000 in one frocking month they just kept charging my credit card and none of these “customers” they call leads even bother to respond. I called them—half the phone numbers don’t work. This company should be sued they are ripping off so many people just melting your credit card like butter and don’t even blink an eye. I disputed like 15 fake leads without phone numbers or in places half across the country I can’t serve in person and these people at thumbtack refused to refund me. I really think 90 percent of the leads are fake. I despise this company. I hope they rot in hell.

Horrible customer service. Greedy company. Screws over their pros. Won’t give refunds for bogus leads and phone numbers. Forces leads to select multiple pros so they can gouge their pros by charging $30-50 for leads 90 percent of which ghost you. Don’t sign up as a pro for thumbtack. Even if you do get a so-called refund they will only let you use the money on their site. They are a huge ripoff. Huge. You’ll spend thousands each month on bogus ripoff leads and their customer service won’t bother to lift a finger to refund you a dime regardless. Huge ripoff.
