My husband and I initially visited the downtown Asheville chocolate lounge for treats. It was so yummy that on our second trip to town, I scheduled us to visit the factory for a tour. We had a great time learning about the start of French broad chocolates, the process of making it, and a tour of the factory. The tasting was so eye opening! Great time, 100% recommend - especially as a family or date idea. Or if you just love chocolate.

Looking for a fun educational way to spend an hour or so when the weather outside is too cold? Maybe think about visiting The French Broad Chocolate Factory and take a tour! Tickets are purchased online - $12 each, which includes a information packed “class” on where chocolate comes from and how it’s made. The first half of the tour was in a sampling classroom. We were given various chocolate samples to savor- kind of like a wine tasting for chocolate! For the second half we followed our guide to look into the factory windows. I was disappointed that none of the machines were in operation- so the actual tour was kind of dull😏 Overall it was a unique educational way to spend some quality time learning something new!

They do tours of the factory most days, but on Sundays they do a chocolate tasting as the factory is shut down on that day. The host was very knowledgeable, friendly, and eager to answer any question. On top of all that, the chocolate, especially the liquid truffle, was absolutely incredible.

I can't express how much I loved this place! We stopped by before heading home from vacation and I must say, this should have been one of our first stops in NC. As soon as you pull in, you can smell the beautiful aroma of chocolate wafting through the air. Once inside, there's so much chocolate delicacies to indulge in. I personally bought some chocolate chip cookies and chocolate chips to take home for baking and snacking. One of my favorite (and most memorable) parts of the visit was getting to hold a real cacao pod. I thought that was so cool and so special! It must have traveled a long way to get to the factory since their chocolate is sourced from other countries. Next time we come back I plan on touring the factory and maybe buying that beautiful book about chocolate since I already bought a shirt;) thank you again for a wonderful and memorable experience. I hope to come back soon!
