The new lab system at ssf, i feel is not efficient as how it was before. It takes MUCH longer to get done. Now you have to a number just to get registered and then a 2nd number to proceed with lab work. Ridiculous! Kaiser, Please revert to the old system. So we can get and get out, given that we keep getting contagious covid strains. Just a thought.

If you have to be a patient here, try to avoid the nurses Huda and Agnes. Not very nice at all. They must be related to the male operator, who answers the hospital phone. So angry and rude. The star is for John in EVS. He's a hard worker.

Everything was good, sometimes it does get crowded especially in the pharmacy and the lab. The best time to go get stuff done is either early in the morning or just after 7pm. That's when it's not too busy.

I’ve been getting my blood work done here as well as RT-PCR, quick and ease. There is particularly one nurse that does not leave a bruise on my arm whenever she takes my blood sample, whereas the others always do. Make sure your doctor has lab request, get a number and wait for your turn. On a busy morning it can take about 20-30 minutes to be called. Pay attention on the screen as they do not call your attention during hectic time. The pharmacy pick up too is convenient, basically just get a number and wait for your turn and go. Sometimes, we will just wait in the curve and not park.

Yes it's open as stated 730,530. Of course masks are required. And they do observe the seating inside so there's not a if it's crowded you may have to stand in the hallway but it's generally not a long line you go in and take your number and they call you.

yes for emergency services only but I think for any preventive services you have to be within the health plan of San Mateo vicinity
Blood works lab is open.
They say it's about patient privacy. But if the patient requests a witness, they shouldn't say no. There is no expectation of privacy from that person, so no HIPAA violation in my opinion.
The Blood Works lab opens at around 7am.
As early as 6 am
Go to member services office and they will direct you.

They have a Samtrans bus line called 390, 391, and some other El Camino lines. They also have the 122 that stops near by and within walking distance. A Bart station is near by also. The city of South San Francisco also has a free shuttle bus.
