We were at the last minute before bladder surgery trying to find help. 1+1 found us responsible, kind, able help in only a day or so. We were between a rock and a hard place so to speak because I am the caregiver for my husband, who is blind, over 90, and has multiple other disabilities. We absolutely needed help. Juan was kind, careful, bilingual, although hard for him to understand us sometimes, was asked to do a number of unusual tasks (including an immediate problem with a catheter), handyman tasks that my husband desired, and cheerfully willing, and accomplished everything requested, no matter how strange or different!

I have to admit that I was a bit nervous and anxious as we did not seem to have any caregiver identified in the early part of last week. Through you work and the cooperation of Fidelia and Eva, we were able to talk with them briefly. Still, I had no idea how Fidelia and Eva would act/react during the events. I am writing this because of the caring, wonderful experience we have, as a family, with 1 Plus 1 Cares. In March I needed care for my brother who had had a stroke and needed assistance in his home. I called 3 different agencies that the Rehab and Care Facility had referred me to and left messages at 2 of them. 1 Plus 1 Cares answered the phone immediately and clearly I was able to communicate with them and fulfill the needs of my brother. They were extremely helpful and you knew they had experience with families dealing with family health issues. At first my brother needed daily care for 4 hours a day 7 days a week.I had no experience with this type of family situation. This happened during Covid 19 in March 2020 and I was really worried that this might interfere with my brother getting the proper caretaker for him. 1 Plus 1 Cares provides you with a specialist or advocate that you can get in touch with if you have any questions or concerns.When you call they answer the phone immediately with wonderful verbal communication. They matched my brother up with the perfect caretaker for him. I live just down the street from my brother's house, so I can pop in at any time if I want to talk with his caretaker. He will also text me if he thinks my brother needs anything. He has become part of the family.

Yes. It’s always your choice. To be fair to caregivers, if the cancellation is less than 24 hours prior to the start of a shift there is a fee (4hrs or 50% of the shift).
No. Caregiving, often called custodial, personal care, or companionship, are considered non-medical. Medical insurances generally do not cover non-medical caregiving services.
We do not control caregivers or families. 1+1 Cares is not the employer of the caregiver we refer. Depending on your arrangements with the caregiver, you may have employer responsibilities.
No, the referred caregivers are not employees of 1+1 Cares.
No. Rates are always negotiable between the client and the referral.
- Basic clients: Yes, you will need to switch to premium. - Premium clients: No, the coordination of the services is all included. Your dedicated Advocate will help coordinate all of the concierge services for you.
- Basic clients: Yes, you will need to switch to premium. - Premium clients: No, 1+1 Cares assigns a personal Care Advocate when you decide on Premium service.
- Basic clients: You will need to log into your account and look for another matching caregiver. - Premium clients: Please call our office and your care advocate will work on matching a replacement caregiver. If the caregiver notifies 1+1 Cares, we would already have notified you and worked on a solution and per your direction. Some families want/need a replacement while some do not a new caregiver.
Yes. 1+1 Cares protects all the clients by requiring all referred caregivers to have liability insurance. The policy covers 1 million per incident and 6 million in aggregate in a given year. Do the referred caregivers have worker's compensation?
Yes. Safety for our clients is a top priority. The registration department screens each referral by conducting a thorough criminal, social security and county background check. They also conduct a driving record check. 1+1 Cares requires a minimum of 2 years of experience with excellent references.
