Alameda Marina is at a nadir in its long and storied history. Most of the businesses and amenities that mate it desirable have been closed and demolished as part of a substantial renovation by developer Bay West / Pacific Development. The marina community is as good as it gets. The distance to the SF Bay - 5 miles down the estuary - leaves something to be desired.

A longtime presence in Alameda that used to host Svendsens Boat Yard. The marina is in full operation with wood docks and piers. I believe there will be lots of changes to the warehouses and area in the near future. Island Yacht Club headquarters and club house is still in the marina . Located at the Southern end of the Oakland Alameda Estuary .
