Just wanted to give SLPD a great job shout out. They started a sideshow on MacArthur and Estudillo Sunday night. It was shut down within 15 minutes from the first screach. Thank you San Leandro Police!!!!

I needed an officer for a minor report. I called the non-emergency number and the call was answered within the first few rings. The dispatcher was courteous and asked relevant questions . Officer Ellis responded within 10 minutes. He was friendly and efficient. This was a relatively minor matter that he handled with a great attitude of service. Good Job S.L.P.D.!

I can not recommend San Leandro police department! I called both the police and fire department to report an animal trapped on a third floor outdoor balcony, and they will not come unless the animal has DIED. The animal is crying and screaming on the patio. It’s clearly under stress. The owners are gone, management office is closed. This is animal cruelty. I thought these organizations were here to support their communities and serve the public, but this lack of empathy towards animals is extremely disappointing and shocking. I expected allot more from my community! Humans left a defenseless animal trapped on a patio, humans should fix it. I don’t understand why the animal should suffer.

Horrible, a friend and I had just parked to go have dinner at a restaurant called paradiso in San Leandro. No more than 5 minutes later I hear that the police are out side do to someone going around breaking into cars. So me and another customer go outside to check on our vehicles. And I find 4 officers already goin in my car and backpack without any permission and my vehicle was locked . they would not say how they entered the vehicle. Probly brok in if everything was locked. Me and my friend were the two African Americans at the scene. When I ask why are you in my vehicle without my permission he stated there a string of vehicle break-in going on. Then a waiter from the restaurant come out and tells him that we had nothing to do with it. The police did not care. They proceed to put my friend and I in handcuffs . I ask was there a description of the people, Was there a description of the vehicle they were driving? He said no. No description. So I ask did you jus detained us for no reason? He would not answer instead he thought we broke into cars and then went to have dinner at the crime scene. The police searched through my personal belongings and vehicle with no consent. When he couldn't find any drugs because we didn't have any. He decided to tow my car because I had a suspended license. I stated sir I wasn't driving the car, I wasn't in the car, so why are you towing this vehicle. He said because I was driving. Any way the racial profiling officer's towed my car since they couldn't take me to jial. Putting an unnecessary nursing on me having to buy my car out of the tow yard. So instead of goin to look for the real car vandlers he waist my tax money on a person who has never been arrested. And while he was harassing me and my friend another car got broken into. That should have let him know that we have nothing to do with it. San Leandro is a racial profiling cop city. And hundreds of people have testified evennin this review log. When will it stop? No one knows.
