I just read a response from "The owner" saying the doors are never locked after 730 AM? Maybe the "owner" does not even know their own business. Don't take your time trying to foster with them. But they are a good organization. Friendly people work there, they treat the animals as well as they know. I tried to foster some dogs, but I got removed before even speaking with them.

We adopted from Butte Humane Society It was a good experience. I was amazed at how clean it is. Big Beautiful building. It was pretty easy to adopt, just fill out the application, they will call you to come visit and if the dogs a good fit, you get to adopt her/him. And it’s first come first served. I thank God we was first in line for Ariel who is now Gracie 😊

This is in regards to the Butte Humane Society Clinic at 13391 Garner Ln, Chico, CA 95973. I had a horrible experience today. It’s the second time since they moved to their new location. I will not be returning & I don’t recommend them... So annoyed!! This is what happened.. As soon as the new location opened I was put on a waiting list for my dogs to be seen.. I gave up after a couple months of calling and checking for an opening..TODAY I called 5 times during normal business hours. Left 3 messages.. Never a call back. Finally decided to go out there. I get there and there are 3 WOMEN sitting in front of 3 PHONES. Not a soul waiting to be seen with a pet.. My dogs were needing to get a refill on their heart-worm & flea & tick meds. I came with my dogs records from the old location which states that their refills on said meds are good until May 2023. They wouldn't fill them. They said my dogs needed to be tested again for heart-worms. They were closed for along time before the new location on Garner was up and running.. GUESS WHEN SHE TOLD ME THEY SHOULD HAVE BEEN TESTED. You guessed it. When they were closed..

Fabulous place, filled with kind, gentle, animal loving folks, who also minister to human animals they deal with. They were very professional and patient. Our pup did great. Thanks!

Questions & Answers

How do I turn in a Pit puppy. She's been bullied by her brothers. We rescued her from that situation, and thought we had a home for her. That fell through & we can't keep her. Please help!

I believe so. Go to their website or even their Facebook page! 🙂

Do you have a direct link for #CampFire/Butte County Humane Society? I am trying to post direct sites for victims & animals. All I could find was this site and the D.C. base. We need a donate button to publish so the $ goes directly to your location

Yes! We accept these types of donations gladly. You can bring them to our location and knock on the adoptions entrance door and someone will process your donation for you.

Does the humane society need towels, blankets etc.? When I lived in Sacramento they welcomed and requested this type of donations. I also have cat food that my kitties will not eat. Dry and wet. Would love to donate. Thank you.

Clean towels and blankets are always welcome donations! The same thing goes for dry and wet food. Wet food cannot be opened, however.

Does anybody know where I can shelter my dog for a month while I'm out of town? And how much will it be

(Answering for Butte Humane Society) For dog boarding we recommend Foothill Boarding, Ridgeline and Wacky Wags. If your pet has any medical needs, we recommend reaching out to your primary care veterinarian for a recommendation.

Hi Angelica. Our foster program is solely for Butte Humane Society dogs. We do not have a foster program in place for the public. I hope that answers your question!
