Ive tried to work with iib but they keep Giving me the runaround basically sending in a circle and not trying to work with me! Caseworkers are disrespectful and hang up in your face while you’re speaking They are of course going to try to say that it was different you know how stuff like this works Wish I knew who was actually funding IBb because I have like a lot of complaints The new caseworkers here are unprofessional And not reliable

My experience with this organization was horrible to say the least. Black women looking for advocacy stay far away from them. Not one woman of color is on staff in their DV program at least so there is no way they can empathize with our issues. I did not experience blatant overt racism but microaggressions and subtle racism definitely. I said I would speak about my experience as long as I have breath until I see change.

I did several translation jobs for this company. The last job done for them was paid by check, as were the previous ones. When I did not get that last check on time I contacted the company who claimed they had already sent it. I never received said check so they sent me another one, which I received this time, but they had deducted 35 dollars from the total amount claiming that it was what the bank charged them to stop payment on the "lost" check. I was not happy about that. Why would I be penalized for a check they might very well have never sent, sent to the wrong address, etc.? My work as a translator is to translate and be paid for the work done, not to pay for my clients' bank expenses! When I reacted to their refusing to pay the full amount (meaning sending me the 35 dollars missing), the Financial Director Deb Billoni, litterally sent me this: "We are very sorry that you were unable to locate a payment sent to you. At this time to stop payment and reissue a check the cost is 35.00. Please do not threaten or harass the IIB staff any longer by email or phone." So not only do they refuse to pay me for my work but I'm now the "villain" harassing them just because I don't agree with their practice. I sent 2 emails only and never even called them! I thought I should warn other translators about this company, as we are always the one at the end of the food chain being chewed on by unscrupulous companies. There are other good companies to work with so that we should avoid working with these types of companies who of course expect great quality (and they should) and on time delivery (and they also should) but will not pay what they are supposed to at the end of the day. I realize 35 dollars is not much, but by principal this type of practice should not be tolerated.
