What a beautiful day. BBQs and family gatherings. Small children playing in the waves of lake wyola. The light sounds of music and laughter. There was ample parking early in the day but that filled by late afternoon. The rangers had to close entry for one hour at 3:30pm, so if your planning a get together, expect everyone early to avoid them having to wait in lines. The highlight of the day was not the water skiers performing in front of the beach, making waves for the kids to surf...it was the solitary bald eagle who repeatedly circled overhead, diving from the sky for small trout offshore...and the wild applause from the crowd which stirred my heart.

A beautiful lake in the middle of no where! We (me & 2 boys) traveled 40 minutes west, and were not disappointed. The water was so clean and clear, the beach area was also clean, no trash, or loud music, no smoking, no loud people swearing, or yelling. (This I find at many small lakes/state parks). The view was beautiful, peaceful, and just had a great environment. I noticed a lot of young families in the early mid-day, and an older generation after 3:00. They were also very friendly. The lake has a huge beach front, and is sectioned in different areas. One huge side for those who came for camp. On the other side of the ropes a very large section for others. They even rope off lanes for those who want to do laps. I haven't seen this before but think it is a great addition!! A place to go fishing as well is provided. The lifeguards actually pay attention to what is going on and not on the phone (I see too much). Parking is across the street from the lake, it is $8 for MA resident 10 for non. The bathrooms were clean, and had supplies. Handicap parking is located by the bathrooms, a working water bubbler is outside the bathrooms.

Are dogs allowed?

Dogs are allowed in the park but they must be leashed. They are not allowed on the beach, but if your looking to give them a swim to cool off, try the town beach and boat ramp on Randall Rd. Where it's allowed. If you really want to swim with them come on up to Wendell state forest and use Wickett pond.
