I thank everyone who donates food and goods to this place. I dont need to worry so much about food to have energy to work my job. It helps me use $ for gas to support myself until things get better. Pay it forward...

Lady was read. I'm handicap and that down there I had to walk all the way into the front Simon and I said I can't my past parked right outside and I just had knee surgery and that the woman from the place was already in the back getting the items I needed and as I was walking out she said no man here you go you don't have to walk out front but the older woman was very rude

This is such a great pantry! They are very generous and caring. They make sure you have what you need with options, plus some. The place is small, but they are quick so you're not in there for more than a half hour. Or, that's been my experience every time I go.

As much as I appreciate the efforts of the Open Pantry of Lowell in providing food for me and my household when my mother was very ill and most of the family's finances were directed towards her health care, however I must make these observations and I sincerely hope that the managers take them seriously. I have reason to assert that there is some racial discrimination particularly against black folks in that pantry. The particular individual who I have recognized on two occasions is a tall white woman who wears a boot cast on her left foot, with multiple tattoos on her arms. She goes out of her way to assist white people speedily with their requests but as soon as it is a black person, she will ask the person to verify and re-verify their documents or else they would be denied food. On two occasions, she has asked me to produce documents which I had already submitted and of which the records were in the office system, as another staff pointed out to her. When I was feeling that she disliked me, I observed that she did it to the next black person that she attended to. She made the man feel so low and humiliated. She treated him like a beggar who came to steal food. But on the same front, she didn't even ask a white woman for her documents. I know this because I asked the white lady and she said that the woman knows her on recognition. I wonder if this is fair! There is really no need to discriminate people because of color or race. We should remember that anyone can be in a position of need at any time and food is the most basic need that any person could require. Also, this type of person will eventually give your good work a bad reputation.

I would like to thank this place for being so kind generous and understanding to someone so know who worked their whole life as well As served our country in combat. The people here were able to help them without being pushy about verification of being unable to work or proof of residency where they just moved to Lowell & weren’t able to gather all the necessary documentation. I’ll never forget how compassionate this location was with someone in great need for help not an undeserved handout. God bless !
