We had them come in and do a clean up after a tree company we hired left on Hell of a mess (and in a hurry after asking us to pay cash). We had a family event coming up very quickly with people coming from all over the country. Evidently this was a very busy time for landscapers but Wolf Hill had a crew there within 2 days and our place was immaculate!! After it was done to our satisfaction, they still mowed the lawn to give it a manicured look. They went as far as to fill the dogs' water bowls. We wish we'd rec'd a recommendation from them for a tree guy, we used Perry Arbor & it was a disaster. Please read my testimony on that crook!

Love this place - I had part of a plant that didn't quite make it - paid $50 for it. The manager on duty took me over to the section - mandevilla (spelling this incorrectly, sorry) and gave me a new one to place in my plant. I was very happy, grateful and because of this, I will buy all of my plants at Wolf Hill. It just takes a good customer service person to make ALL of the difference. I like to buy locally, but will only do so if I enjoy the establishment and get good service. This man (young, tall, dark hair - didn't get his name) was responsible for my becoming a regular customer. I also was happy with all of the employees there; you could feel their love of flowers and they had great knowledge. Thank you for doing a great job! Earning respect via putting the customer first is STILL the way to be successful in business.

Questions & Answers

When do you expect to get lettuce 6 packs?

Sally Seamans | Aug 30, 2020
Colin Finn | Aug 30, 2020

Good question, I suspect the first or second week of April. Once soil temperatures are at 40 degrees or more it can be planted in the garden.

Will you be selling plants native to this area? I am looking for a lot of perennials to create a wild meadow. I want to start with wild perennial lupine.

Wolf Hill Garden Center | Mar 3, 2022

Hi Nancy - yes we will be selling native plants to this area. What a great idea! Our selections will vary depending on availability from our suppliers, but we will have some! Please give us a call in April/May - that is when we will be starting to get some shipments in :)

Hello, Is it too late to plant Hydrangea ? I just removed 2, 27yr old spruce bushes in front of my window. now I have a 7+ ft. space to fill. any suggestions?

Frances Ragusa Carollo | Aug 30, 2021
Wolf Hill Garden Center | Aug 30, 2021

Hi Frances, No, it's not too late! The main concern with this time of year is watering! You'll need to water A LOT during the heat - and we wouldn't recommend planting on a very hot day or heat wave (this weekend would be perfect actually - temps in the 70s, cloudy and rainy). Hydrangeas typically like part shade/part sun. There are some varieties that can tolerate full sun. Our knowledgeable nursery staff would love to help you out in store! We have a lot of hydrangea varieties in stock now. Thanks for thinking of us! Brittany & the Wolf Hill Team

Do you have giant hostas in, and if so, how much are they?

Do you have hazelnut trees and what is the price?

Karen Tysver | Aug 30, 2021
Wolf Hill Garden Center | Aug 30, 2021

Hi Karen, We have carried different varieties of hazelnut trees in past years. We do not have any in currently, but could order them for you this spring if they're available from our suppliers. The prices range significantly depending on size and variety. Please reach out to the Wolf Hill nearest you (Gloucester 978-281-4480 and Ipswich 978-356-6342) and the Nursery Department can help you figure out what varieties are currently available and what pricing looks like this year. Hope this is helpful! Thank you for thinking of us!
