In spite of being warned that my appointment might take longer than expected because of staff shortages, the appointment went as expected. Everyone was very pleasant and professional, including Dr. Peters. In addition, I thought of questions after my appointment, which I posted on the Patient Portal, and the response was very quick and helpful.

Have two bad cataracts. Waited for two months for an appt w surgeon w surgery expected to be booked two months out. Day before pre surgical consult, was unexpectedly canceled on their side and told to reschedule. Called. First appt was two months out. Which puts surgery out four months. Basic attitude was "sorry. But we're busy, too bad, so sad." One might think that since the issue was on their end they might have protocol in place but. Apparently no.

I saw Dr Peters in follow up. He does thorough exam, very easy to talk to. Had no issue with my seeking second opinion about my cataracts as my case complicated. In fact reassured me I'd made good decision. That is a hallmark of a good physician.

Overall, this was a very good appointment. Arrived a few minutes before my appointment time and was taken into the exam room after just a few minutes. I love Dr. MacLaughlin. She is very personable and easy to talk to. My only issue, and the reason for the four stars instead of five is, I feel the assistant should have introduced herself to me when she came out to take me to the room. Also, the assistant who was with Dr. MacLaughlin was not introduced to me when they came in for the exam. Just a little thing but, I feel it's a professional courtesy that should be followed. Only other thing is the set up in the exam room for patients to take out contacts and put back in. Little mirror on counter - very uncomfortable to have to squat down to see into the mirror. Could you not invest in a makeup style mirror that was attached to the wall and swings out? I'm sure all the patients that wear their contacts to the exams would appreciate it.

Try calling and ask Dr Peters. He did my cataract surgery. He's great
If you are seeing floaters or anything in your vision, I would recommend seeing someone asap as sudden changes in vision should be addressed immediately.
