You are little more than a lab rate to the doctors, nurse practitioners and especially nurses. The doctors are always grim, offer NO encouragement and hate to be asked questions. The nurses are definitely the worst. They are condescending and indifferent to a patients suffering. How this institution got its reputation is beyond me. They run these commercial how much the doctors and staff care about you but they don’t! It’s all a sham! If Dana is bad, which it is, Brigham and Women's Hospital is much much worse! I was there twice and lived thru nurses who were indifferent and down right cruel. I would let my dog stay in that hospital!

Over rated. They seem to have a great story. The doctors are cold and kinda suck. Sorry to relay this message. Have firsthand experience with them for over 6 months

6/29/22 my Husband and I just arrived at this medical center . They have parking valet and self park. From hotel to here a lot of winding roads can be a bit confusing . Thank Christ we found our way to Dana Faber. You need to wear mask at all times. Their mask is first class tho . first floor you get your name tag and asked pre-screening COVID question . Then you go on the second floor for check in and lab services . So far everyone we have encounter that work here is five service. Found a nice little chapel , alway make sure in the chapel or not that you pray specially in places like this . Pray in the name of Jesus that is the name above all names .

I am now being treated at Dana Farber. I had tried other treatments and had little success. My doctor suggested I try Dana Farber. I am glad to have had his referral because I have renewed hope for my multiple myeloma.
That is the million dollar question. My husband died one month short of 3 years after diagnosis. I have read about patients having more than one stem cell transplant and are still going strong and people who just had chemo alone having good results. I believe it all depends on your strength and willingness to fight to get better.
Yes you can. You can get as many second opinions as you'd like. Just call and get an appointment.
I believe that cancerous cells are regular cells that have mutated, changed, somehow. But don't quote me on that. See American Cancer Society cancer.org for more reliable information.
Carol, my mom is in the same position..did you receive any feedback!!! I pray for miracles everyday!!!!
Make a consultation with the Farber. They will let you know what treatment options/trials are available. Also check clinicaltrials.gov.
There is a voice specialist in Boston voice center. Dr Burns is excellent.

Absolutely yes! Go get treatment. People with stage 4 NHL survive a normal life after chemo treatment.
Personally, I would get a doctor to prescribe medical cannabis so you can purchase it in tincture, oil, or edible form at a cannabis dispensary. Up until 1937 cannabis was recognized as having medicinal properties and was completely legal. In fact, it was offered in many forms by a slew of reputable pharmaceutical companies. Unfortunately, the government decided to ban and bash cannabis as "reefer madness" and made it illegal despite its positive health benefits for cancer, epilepsy, etc.
Dana-farber is one of the best hospitals around. Im an undergoing treatment for cancer there now. The staff is amazing and the doctors very knowledgeable.
If it's happening through Dana-Farber, it's the best way possible. There is NO place better for advanced treatment. Rest easy.
Perhaps you should get a second opinion? I don't think you'll be able to get the answer you're looking for here on Google Maps.
If you're looking for a minimum of 4 stars, you're looking at, at least a 15 minute drive depending on the time of day. There's many options in the downtown area & along the waterfront. Omni Boston 4.5 miles Hyatt Regency 6.9 miles Seaport Hotel 5.9 miles Boston Park Plaza 2.9 miles I hope this helps.
no
Yes, you can request a second opinion via video appointment

It is validated at your office visit.
The "Inn at Longwood medical" is a 3-5 min walk from Dana Farber
To be honest I had stage 4 bladder cancer but was treated at Massachusetts General hospital. That was 6 yrs ago I would start their.
I agree a positive attitude is definitely a healthier way to achieve a better Outlook. A sound mind is just as important as a sound body.
I have something different and I am being treated with different medicine. Good luck on your journey
They are always trying new treatments for all kinds of cancer
Call to schedule consultation. Doctors are not looking at these questions
Thanks for reaching out. If the patient is able to come to Boston to meet with one of our treatment teams, please call 877-442-3324 or fill out this online appointment request form: https://www.dana-farber.org/appointments-and-second-opinions/ If the patient is not able to travel to Boston, Dana-Farber offers the Online Second Opinion Program, which allows patients to get an expert second opinion from a Dana-Farber oncologist, without traveling to Boston. The Online Second Opinion program is secure, convenient, and confidential. The entire process is conducted online – including collecting the patient's records – helping the patient to avoid disruptions to their regular schedule, while also saving on travel and lodging costs in Boston. ask the question your Dr
Yes, but it is dependant upon several factors. Cell type and what stage it is in determine what treatment options are available. Depending on stage, surgery, targeted therapies, immunotherapy, and sometimes radiation and chemotherapy will be used, either by themselves or in combination. If caught early, survival rates are pretty good, 75% overall.
Every situation is different but I would certainly make an appointment
The institution has many different disease groups with treatment options for patients in different states of disease progression. Set up a consultation and the multidisciplinary teams there will go over your options.
The Longwood Inn is located one block away, on Longwood Avenue. They have off street parking.
There may be treatment options available. Dana-Farber has many treatments for all types of cancer including many clinical trial. If the patient is not from the US please call the international office there.
The GI department offers several trials, but you should schedule a consult to see which you qualify for
I would go for a second opinion, Breast Cancer is the most funded & researched at Dana Farber. Every case is different it doesn't hurt to explore your options. Best of Luck
There's no cure but with treatment the survival rate is greater. Remember early detection is always a plus.
There is valet parking at BWH and DFCI.
All consultants last for about 60 mins
I am happy with my hematology oncologist at Dana Farber. Dr. Jacobsen.
What can I said, I work there as a supervisor of housekeeping. But the treament and medicacion labs are so avance rigth now.
I am sure the doctors could ans. That for you😐
Mass health standard and health safety net. If you mean network health, Fallon, etc., Any of those should be accepted
Dana Farber serves children and adults. Adults are seen in the Yawkey building. The children are seen at the Jimmy Fund Clinic located in the Dana building. forgive me if the translation is incorrect.
Yes, there is an entire floor dedicated to female specific cancers, vulvar cancer being one of them. Currently there is at least 1 clinical trial studying vulvar cancer and some new therapies that have shown promise. The team has been pioneering research, utilizing least-invasive surgical techniques and targeted therapies
Thanks for your question. We do! You can learn more on our website here: https://www.dana-farber.org/sarcoma-and-bone-cancer-treatment-center/
Why don't you call DFCI and find out or go on their website? They deal with all forms of cancer and are highly regarded.
I needed a referral from my oncologist for Dana farber. Can't speak for colon cancer, I had stage 3c melanoma. But they're great there. Good luck.
I would imagine you should get results back within a week. I suggest you ask your doctor.
It all depends on what you're going for. I had an appt within a couple weeks. And that's with my Dr only taking appts on Thursdays. Good luck...
Don't know. you can call and ask them, they are very helpful
I would call the Financial Counsellors at Dana Farber they would be able to better answer your question.
I am from out of town and staying with my daughter (Dorchester). Not familiar with your transportation system, I chose to use Uber for my trip.
