A hidden treasure! We stayed overnight in one of their dog friendly rooms. It was clean, spacious and decorated with love.. I am a huge music lover and appreciated the vinyl collection and record player. The check in process was super easy and the staff is so kind and friendly. If you visit don't miss the food. It is unbelievably delicious with something for everyone. Very high quality food and drink!!! We will absolutely be back.

It takes a lot of dubb a dining experience as "The Perfect Meal," but after much deliberation and a night of reflection, Squeaky and myself have decided that our dining experience last night at the Deers Head was, in fact, perfect. To begin, we each ordered a drink - SQ a vodka soda, and the "Beets Me" for myself, which was great because it was both delicious, refreshing, and since it had beets, essentially doubled as a salad. How can you BEET that?! Following drinks we ordered appetizers - delectably seasoned Brussel sprouts, black bean soup with sausage that was fantastic both before and after adding tobasco, as well as a plate of beautifully crispy home style french fries. It was at this point that the concept of "The Perfect Meal" began to set in as a distinct possibility. Ya know, the way a pitcher feels after 5 no-hit innings. For his main course, Squeak decided to roll with a third and fourth course from the appetizer selection - a side thai salad sized for a king (hard to imagine the dinner sized salad), with what seemed like 20 spectacularly melanged ingredients, as well an order of 2 pork shoulder tacos in warm corn tortillas....7 no-hit innings. We agreed that the best food of the evening came in the form of my main course, the nightly special which consisted of Italian sausage linguine with sautéed spinach, and - in the words of our flawless server, Marnie - a sauce that was accurately described as "to die for." 9 innings. No hits. No walks. Zero errors. In an effort to not tempt fate by bringing this dominance into extra innings, we decided that it had to be a trip across the street for Stewart's ice cream for dessert. Thanks Deers Head! We had the best meal with y'all, and can't wait to do it again soon.

I don't know how this is listed as a 3 star hotel. They deserve so much more!! It was the easiest check in experience I have ever had, the rooms are lovely and clean. Everyone I spoke to throughout the booking process was super friendly and helpful! This hotel was such a find on our journey to the slopes! I would recommend this beautiful inn to anyone looking to have a nice relaxing weekend in a historical spot! Also I can't help but make a note of how exciting it was that this place was pet friendly!

Very delightful menu. Took parents for an anniversary. Nice selection of creative and delicious combinations for vegetarians as well as omnivores, great service, and a creative drink menu. We are on the porch and our dog was able to join us. Other guests also had pets on the porch. Wonderful hospitality!
