Update 2022- I had my files transfered to Bailey Vet clinic in Roseburg. They are the the only emergency vet in an hour radius, but you have to be an established client to go there. (Just a healthy pet exam will do.) So I called Oakland back to get my dog looked at for non emergency care, and they rufused to book an appointment with us because we went to Baileys once for a healthy pet exam. Im sure its more to do with the review left here, so obviously I was very wrong about this clinic. If you disagree with anything or refuse to do a service that isnt necessary at the moment, they will no longer see your pet. Ive changed my review to 1 stars. I used to be a Dr.s assistand at a clinic in Bend so I do know a bit kore about vet care then the general public. Dr. K is not a good vet to go to. Make the drive to Baileys in Roseburg or Parkway vet off I5 also in Roseburg. The care your pet receieves is worth it. 2021- Im not sure about these bad reviews, it seems to me people just dont want to spend money on taking care of their pet. If you get an animal, its your resposability to make sure you have the funds to take care of them, veterinary care is very important to the overall health of your pet. As far as this vet, he very good. He can be a little pushy at times but hes trying to save you money because obviously thats a big part of this communities issues. I had a great experience at this vet, his wife and him run it together, they care alot about your animals and will reccommend what they see fit. I highly reccomend them if you live in the area. My only issue was, I have an older, 13 year old corgi/golden mix and needed a abcess removed, but she also needs a dental. I asked if we could take x rays seperatly, and schedule out the dental. He got a little agrumentative about it because it's cheaper overall if you do all 3 of these things at once. However, given her age, I didnt want her under anestesia for that long- a mass removal which has an unknown time period to remove, clean amd suture, and then followed by dental x rays and a full dental and then extractions if needed. I feel these 2 procedures can be done sepertaly to assure my old girl isnt exposed to too much anestisia. However he is correct that all these thing need to be done. So overall, hes a wonderful guy and a very detailed vet. I respect his opinion, however I chose to only do the mass removal at that time and am scheduling out the dental, x rays and extractions if needed. He has a wide scope of experience and I do reccomend him and will continue to take my animals to him for care. He also offers alternative natural medicine as well as regualr vet care, which I appeciate. Please take those other reviews with a grain of salt. Its purely personal finance issues.

Be warned!! They discriminate against low income people. They made it very clear today that they need regular patronage or they didn't need my business. If you don't have money to pay for the vet to NOT treat your pet - on a regular basis - go elsewhere. Went there for years to get my dog chiropractic adjustments - $50 each, (monthly in the beginning,) vaccinations etc. Those adjustments were wonderful for my pet. But when it came to dealing with a hot spot type problem on my pups leg, I went 2 specific times to get it treated, buying the antibiotics and topical creams, and talked with the vet about it at another appointment where he did nothing. My pup has been suffering nearly 2 years, even with many home remedies I've told the vet about. Nothing the vet did worked. A lot of money and no progress. But I was willing to give it another go. 2021 devastated our health and our family. When I called to get my dog an appointment in 2022 (which was $200) the receptionist blamed me not coming in on a regular basis for the reason my dog still had the hot spot. She said I hadn't had him adjusted for 16months. I told her the adjustments weren't related to the hot spot. Told her about the terrible year, how I live below the poverty line but pay top dollar to care for my pets. She said I should've come in more often, for the chiropractor adjustments I went when needed. She felt i should've come more. So I asked her - since I've seen the vet 3 times for the hot spot - how many times did I need to come in to get it taken care of. All very civil & cordial. She said she felt I'd lost faith in the vet and should go elsewhere. I told her if I'd lost faith in the vet, I wouldn't be calling. She then told me I needed to go elsewhere. If you can't give them a regular payday - whether they treat your pet properly or not, they don't have time for you. She was judgemental, condescending and dismissive because I wasn't enough money for their clinic anymore and I actually expected my pet to get proper treatment. Unbelievably disappointed in this vet hospital.
