The house is beautifully designed-- more in a French fashion than English, owing to the original owners' European travels. (The lady of the house actually oversaw design.) It was one of the best house tours I have ever taken-- lots of detail and stories. If you go, don't miss the Carriage House part of the tour. We plan to go back later in the fall when the management organization adds farm animals to the place.

Great tour, you actually get to walk through the entire house and not a lot is really off limits. Tickets were on the pricer side but our tour guide gave a lot of great insights that you don't usually hear about on similar historic tours. Our only complaints were that none of the lights were on inside so it was dark (which might have been to reduce the heat inside but it was still hot indoors with no airflow) and also that masks are STILL required in August of 2022 (which wouldn't have been as much of an issue if it wasn't so hot). Overall I'd tell people to go visit, especially in nicer weather.

Attended their annual sheep-shearing festival today. It was loads of fun! The actual shearing was cool - they demonstrated both electric and hand-cut shearing techniques - but that was a small part of the whole festival. They also had demonstrations of spinning wool into yarn along with other crafts (basket weaving, smithing, metal crafting), herding with dogs, and a whole bunch of cool vendors and other demonstrations. Well worth a visit, and very kid-friendly. One of the sheep gave birth to two lambs when they started to shear her! In a few weeks they'll be having their annual plant sale, which is a fantastic place to get interesting and unique vegetables, herbs, and decorative plants for your garden. Lots of varieties that I'd never heard of, and already sprouted & ready to plant. I plan to come home with a lot of plants that weekend! Staff and volunteers are all very friendly and knowledgeable as well.

we visited for a corn roast event. food was way overpriced (outside vendors, $4 for a single ear of corn?!) but music and crowd was fun. needs more promotion and focus to achieve potential
