Fantastic venue, very large with plenty of free parking. West Side Story was outstanding!

When we learned that the theatre was in a high school, we were a little bit sceptical about the quality of the show, but we bought tickets anyway because it had good reviews. We are so glad we did! We saw LA Cage Aux Folles. It was very funny and well acted. What a great time!!

The Sound of Music was an excellent show-Kudos to the cast, crew, etc. THAT SAID, what happened on Sunday afternoon was unconscionable. I have never witnessed such poor planning and mismanagement, nor such apathy concerning a very dangerous situation. The air conditioning broke down on Saturday, and on Sunday, the auditorium was an absolute sauna. There was not one sign or word of warning to the audience members arriving that this was the situation, and most assumed that once the lobby doors closed, improvement would follow. The environment was dangerous, especially considering that the majority of the audience was elderly, and some disabled. Many people had to leave before the show ended, and just in the row behind us, two elderly women became ill and were helped out by companions. Management was totally unprepared and apathetic. The show should probably have been cancelled. Barring that, patrons should have been clearly informed of the situation upon arrival and given the option of a refund or credit. Were there no large fans available from the school system or an equipment rental company? That might have made it just slightly more bearable. Not only was there no bottled water and ice made available and offered for free, even after several patrons suggested it, but even the bottled water for sale had run out by intermission. Patrons were telling staff that they needed to send someone out for more water; it did not happen. I had spent $255.00 on tickets and brought two eighty-nine year old women to the show. When I spoke to a staff member sitting in the (air conditioned) office, far from being apologetic or concerned, with a pouty face, he asked me, “How do you think the cast feels?” followed by, “If you want to complain, complain to the school department; we’re their guests.” Great public relations! Needless to say, I was far from the only person questioning and complaining. For an organization that has been in operation as long as Reagle has, there was no excuse for the way this was handled. They are fortunate that nobody died of heat stroke. And to have the director hop up onstage for ten seconds as the audience was exiting and offer an impromptu, lighthearted thanks/apology was far too little too late.

Run don't walk to catch their shows. Professional quality at great prices! A great mix of professional, semi professional, and amateur performers. Don't be deterred that they are in residence at the Robinson Theater in Waltham High School. A few years back the raised big bucks to beef up the back stage allowing them to fit Broadway size sets. Which they often use. Great live theater north of Boston in the burbs.
