Excellent organization! They are doing work that empower women and give them a voice. They also provide practical help such as a banging thrift store and transitional housing for women.

Great thrift store, nice fancy clothes, very organized, but can only bring 2 items in changing room which is inconvenient as heck.

Abby's House (Abby Kelley Foster House, Inc.) | Aug 30, 2021

Hi Glory! Unfortunately Abby's House can only accept brand-new toys that are still wrapped/have their original packaging. I'd suggest trying Friendly House in Worcester to see if they're able to accept used toys.

Abbeys only takes women. You can get Elder Affairs or Navicare to coordinate your care and living situation. You dont already have someone following you. VNA?? They will be able to point you in the right direction. Good luck

What was the Building at 52 High St.first built for

Patricia Lamarche | Aug 31, 2018
Abby's House (Abby Kelley Foster House, Inc.) | Aug 31, 2019

Hi Patricia, The building at 52 High Street was first Saint Joseph's Home for Women, and organization run by the Sisters of Mercy whose mission was to provide a safe place for women to stay who would otherwise be homeless. In 2001, Abby's House took over ownership of this building and our missions blended together - keeping this building a home for women who need it.
