The technician was here for about 15 min. He said he would do a diagnostic Analysis of my dryer. He was also supposed to clean my washing machine as I paid the $50 to have the service done. When he was done he told me the control board was bad and I need to get a new machine. He said he moved my machine back to check the pipes but I can tell he did not move it. He also did not clean the machine as he told me he’s a technician and he doesn’t clean machines. He pretty much took a paper towel and got some hair out of the drum then told me that I can get the mold out myself using white vinegar! He told me I needed a new dryer. I had a friend take a look at it and he said I did not need a new machine it just needed a new motor. I ordered one on Amazon and he installed it for me. it works like a dream now! My friend simply read the paper that came with the machine that said when the machine stops turning after a few minutes, the problem could be it needs a new motor. So he checked it out and it did need a new motor. It was burnt! Don’t you think the technician should’ve known that? What a waste of money……. I gave him $169 for a wrong diagnosis and a job he did not do. I could kick myself. I am very upset and will call seers to report it.

Early in August our Kenmore Elite Microwave (3 years old) popped the fuse. Repairman arrived on August 5, decided we needed a new Latch Hook, Switch, Door interlock Switch and a Door Latch. He returned on August 26 and put parts in. The next day the fuse popped again. Repairman returned September 19 and replaced the interlock switch. On October 20 the fuse popped again. Repairman arrived October 23 and concluded that we needed the same items ordered August 5. We will see him again on November 6. The repairman was polite, knowledgeable and thorough. The parts were at fault. We purchased an extended warranty for this machine so we have spent no cash, but we have spent many days with an appliance that only had a working clock. I mentioned a warranty, when I called for the last appointment, I spoke to "Sean" ( who did not sound like he came from Ireland) assured me that besides the warranty, I fit into Sears 30 day satisfaction guarantee and no charges would be needed. The Repairman's work order was for a $250.00 diagnostic visit. He corrected that himself. I would give the repairman 5 stars. But Sears only gets 2. And the microwave is not yet repaired.

Your service tech is very experienced and knowledgeable - no concerns there. But the service department as a whole seems overbooked and overextended. Techs work beyond 5:00 just to accommodate all the visits they've been scheduled to make. My previous appointment, for which I'd waited weeks, was cancelled at the last minute and had to be rescheduled. For customers taking time off from their jobs to be present for an appointment, this situation is unworkable. Can Sears hire and train more service techs, and lighten their load a bit? Thanks.

My service tech arrived within 24 hours of my call. He was very knowledgable and efficient, had my issue diagnosed immediately and rectified in a timely manner. He gave me all sorts of information about all of my Sears-purchased appliances. I was so impressed I added additional extended warranties for my dishwasher and dryer. I will be sure to request Michael #755264 for future service. Note to management, he is worth his weight in gold!
