Great little park. Has a fantastic bird sanctuary up front with informational and friendly volunteers. The park features a lot of small walks and some walks near the water. The only thing I will warn (which is nothing the park can control) is there are wild pet peacocks who will attack cars. So be careful with that.

Moccasin Lake Nature Park is a delightful place to spend time. There are trails to walk, a picnic pavillion, and best of all, several raptors on display as they recover and are cared for. We saw and talked to one of the park volunteers who was handling a red-shouldered hawk. An added bonus was a wild peacock who joined us in the picnic area. The peacocks wander around free and seem comfortable around people. Overall, a delightful place!!

A little gem of a park and bird rescue only 20mins from our house located in Clearwater,FL. Great place for kids to run and explore.

It is closed on Mondays. It is a small, quiet, shady park in a neighborhood above another park. I had planned to go for years but didn't go until I attended a memorial for dear friends. It was a wonderful surprise on a very difficult day. It was the perfect place to honor my friends and find solace. I have already returned. Don't be surprised if you hear the scream of a peacock that roam the neighborhood. The picnic area is nice. I love the birds and turtles. They seem to have education show and tell with birds on Saturday but it might have been a special event.

No, only when it's open. Believe it's open Thursday to Sunday weekly
Absolutely
Yes, you can! Call the park at 727-562-4315 for more information.
Yes! We saw them on the roof tops of a few of the birdhouses kept there.
At one time we did but that program just recently ended. We still have a Kayak Fishing guide that provides a lecture once a month.
No only service dogs are allowed.
Moccasin Lake is open once again! Our schedule is Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Come out and visit! :)
If you mean canoeing, not at Moccasin. There is a launch across the street at Cliff Stevens though.

While pets are not permitted in Moccasin Lake because of our injured bird collection, immediately next door is Cliff Stephens Park and a little beyond that is Kapok Park both of which are great for walking and pets. Be sure to be wary near the water as the occasional alligator makes a showing.
Pets are not permitted in the park due to the presence of our Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Program. We thank you for understanding! Cliff Stephens Park next door to us does allow dogs on the trails. Please call us at 727-562-4315, ext. 3 if you have any questions. Thank you!
I am afraid there is no camping at Moccasin Lake Nature Park.
Yes, it's free. Check their schedule though, might be closed Monday and Tuesday.
Unfortunately, no. The trails are not designed for wheeled vehicles with the exception for strollers.
Unfortunately, we do not have a bike path in the park. The Ream-Wilson trail is just outside the park and can be used for bicycling. The park has a walking path of about 1.25 miles in total. Please call us at 727-562-4315, ext. 3 for more information and have a nice day!
We are now open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday through Sunday and closed Monday and Tuesday. There is no admission cost to the park and parking is free. We hope to see you!
The park is free and open to the public from Wednesday through Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Please call us at 727-562-4315.
Come Saturday to the grand reopening and ask the staff. Exciting day!!?
Not open. Google says open but it's not. It seems there's no information anywhere on Earth to indicate when it might reopen
No
I know there is one pavilion for sure with picnic tables and grill.
The sign at the gate now says November but no specific date has been given yet. Looks like the improvements will be worth the wait!
Yes! Will be opening soon. Only open now for meetings.
maybe a mile if you go out to the lake
Yes, no fee but donations accepted at the visitor center. Limited hours, so check before you go.
Yes, its free, funded by the city, not the state so donations are appreciated I'm sure..
I don't think it's a good place for dogs. Pets aren't allowed on the trails.
