After having a terrible experience with the Banfield location in Reston (they administered the wrong vaccine to our dog with zero apologies or refund), I switched to the Herndon location. Sadly, I am just as disappointed in the level of care provided. I was persuaded to do a drop off appt, only to find out when I dropped off my dog there is a fee of $35 for drop off over conventional appointments. When inquiring how long it would take, I was given an estimate of around noon, I dropped off at 830am. Communication was one-way, I called at 1:15 for an update, my dog had still not been seen. At 3:15 I called off the appointment. We did not send food with our dog as we were not expecting it to take 8 hours, our dog is never crated and I am really trying to create a good association of the vet with my dog. After I requested to cancel the appointment and pick up my dog, the vet "just finished and was about to call me." Do yourself a favor and avoid Banfield (unless being nickel and dimed is your thing) and visit another vet. After some research, we will start going to Animal Medical Center of Cascades moving forward as their prices are better than Banfield and they have MUCH better reviews.

I have took my pitbull , baby husky female & boy , all separately in 10 year range . They have not helped with anything but take my money , they are not professional . They want you money . Scammers . Don’t help with anything .

Rating based on customer service alone. I called about a diabetic cat I was cat sitting for, and Sarah(?) was absolutely the most helpful person I could possibly ask all my dumb questions. Full of great advice. If I had my own pet I’d take them here!!

The best veterinarian clinic I've ever been to. I own a French Bulldog and it happens to be that this breed has a lot of health issues. I was seeking for a good place that can take a proper care of my dog. This place was it. Staff is so friendly and nurses/doctors are knowledgeable and professional. I truly believe they are there to help our little ones! I recommend this place and give them 5 stars!!!

No, but you can call us during hospital hours for urgent care advice. Depending on the situation, we can help provide a referral for urgent care, specialty providers, or to an emergency hospital. During non-hospital hours, please contact your local emergency hospital.
They offer all preventive services
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
