They are now open for breakfast 8 am Wednesday - Sunday. Return visit February 2022. Innovative menu. Tonight I had delicious pork chops with spiced apple slices, green beans and wild rice. A perfect portion, delivered timely by an attentive staff. I finished the dinner with Strawberry Short Cake. I forgot my pill box on the table. I connected via FB messenger. They held it for me until I retuned the next day. Nice outdoor setting with a "specials" menu that I always choose. Never disappointed.

My son and visited this place today and was blown away. The service was great and the food amazing. I had the crab cake sandwich. Never had I had a better crab cake!! And I have had them in the fanciest of restaurants. My son had the shrimp tacos that were cooked to perfection 🥰. We were so impressed we even tipped the cooks!! It is a must go to in Mt. Dora. Thank you.

We had a fantastic dinner at Fifth Avenue Streatery. There were 9 of us (and a puppy). They put together two tables for us. The temperature was in the low 60s and they put on a couple of heaters, which made it very comfortable. The chairs are light aluminum and are made comfy by the cushions provided. The service was excellent. Very friendly and helpful staff. Now about the food... We started with fried green tomatoes, pimento stuffed fried jalapenos (sweet hots), and the nachos. All were delicious. The fried green tomatoes and the sweet hots were served with a delicious house made remi sauce. The nachos are amazing (see photo). For main courses we had the grilled shrimp, the beef and cheese sandwich, pot roast (special of the day on Tuesdays), fish sandwich, tacos, Mt Dora Burger and a regular burger. All were superb. The pot roast was amazing - tender and flavorful served with mashed potatoes and gravy and glazed carrots. Everything is home made and you can tell. One little rule of thumb that I have developed for myself over the years is that if a place makes their own tartar sauce (or other sauces) you are in for a treat. This definitely holds true for Fifth Avenue Streatery. I checked the grilled fish sandwich and, sure enough, there was house made tartar sauce and it was awesome. My wife joked that I should just go ahead and lick the bun...the thought crossed my mind, but we were in public and I thought better of it. We were all too full to try desserts, but they looked great as well and are homemade like everything here. I will be back for the bananas foster crepe. Overall an excellent experience in a fun casual atmosphere of a converted gas station. Try this place - you will not be disappointed!!
