I do really appreciate that the out reach coordinator met with me yesterday in the park :) ATTACHED A PHOTO OF MYSELF TO SHARE WITH THE PUBLIC WHAT HIDDEN HOMELESSNESS MAKE LOOK LIKE, WE DONT LOOK THE WAY YOU WOULD PICTURE A HOMELESS WOMAN ON THE STREETS. BEING HOMELESS IS SIMULTANEOUSLY WANTED TO BE FOUND AND RECEIVE HOUSING TO GET OFF YOUR FEET AND ALSO WANTING TO REMAIN HIDDEN IN FEAR OF JUDGEMENT, OR OTHERS TELLING YOU WHAT TO DO, WHEN YOU HAVEN 'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND ANY RESOURCES YET. There are no options I have found yet to help single unaccompanied women with a dog or single unaccompanied men with a dog. Animals are vital to the wellbeing of individuals experiencing homelessness and often a barrier to helping individuals out of homelessness. TO THOSE WHO HAVE ANIMALS, AND ARE DOG OR CAT PEOPLE, THEY WOULDN'T PART WITH THEIR ANIMALS JUST TO RECEIVE HOUSING. It's not the Hunger and Health Homeless Coalition's fault, I am a person who has slipped through the cracks and doesn't meet any of the qualifications to receive help that I need for myself and my sweet Dog Sadie Grace. I pray that one day I can help write a law for single unaccompanied women with NO dependents, no safe friends or family to provide housing to get off their feet. I am not on any drugs, I am not mentally ill, I take care of myself, have my teeth cleaned at the dentist, I am well dressed, college degree, almost 33 year old woman with a 11.5 year old dog. I am praying that God will provide in his perfect timing and trusting him as I wait. Please pray for me and my dog, it has been a challenging 6 months. we are not even allowed in the library, I am sitting outside right now on a computer to type this. I praise God for my car and I am looking for a place to rent to work out of.As I wait, I trust in the Lord with all my heart, I lean not on my own understanding, I acknowledge him in all my ways, AND I TRUST HE WILL MAKE MY PATH STRAIGHT and REMOVE ME FROM HOMELESSNESS IN HIS PERFECT TIMING. I HAVE BEEN THROUGH AN EXSHAUSTIVE LIST OF OPTIONS THROUGHOUT COLLIER COUNTY WITH LITTLE TO NO AVAIL SINCE MARCH AND I HAVE KEPT ALL THE DOCUMENTS AND EMAILS AND PAMPLETS TO ONE DAY SHOW EVERYTHING I HAVE BEEN THROUGH AS I TRY TO ADVOCATE FOR MYSELF. GOD IS GOOD AND WILL PULL ME THROUGH. God bless you all, thanks for reading, sincerely Candice Corbin

I was hesitant to trust something like this but sure enough you keep in touch with them and take care of your end they will definitely help! Bonnie and another member made me see there is help out there, I was 2 months behind rent...they paid it all! Of course with the info they needed from me which I had no issues providing. They don’t have a office so don’t look for one they are strictly through the phone but they are a blessing and this coalition does amazing work! Thank you.

They never returned my phone call and The Address given was just a PO Box inside the post office. Not actually helping the homeless or the hungry.

Bonnie at this Organization was such an angle for my family. I can't thank this place ever enough if I live to be a hundred years old. I will be forever greatful to them and Catholic Charities for the help that they bestowed us when we tried so many others and were turned away. Thank God for placing them in our paths

I met with the outreach coordinator yesterday, the answer is NO they do not allow pets at St. Matthews House, Jills place, NAMI, ETC.. exception to this: if you have a registered service animal (most homeless people do not) HUNGER AND HEALTH COALITION WILL HELP A HOMELESS PERSON OR SOMEONE ABOUT TO FACE AN EVICTION IF THEY CAN PROVE THAT THEY HAVE A STABLE AND CONSISTENT INCOME THEY WILL PAY FOR 1ST AND LAST MONTHS RENT, AND SECURITY DEPOSIT. THIS IS AN EXTREMELY CHALLENGING THING FOR A SINGLE UNACCOMPANIED HOMELESS MAN OR WOMAN TO DO WITH AN ANIMAL, OR EVEN IF SOMEONE HAS A FAMILY AND AN ANIMAL.
