I love this place, the dogs, and their effort to provide companion to veterans and people with disabilities but i am not happy with the owner/ director/ staff there. While doing some required hours there for a class i was attending i spent 2 whole hours cleaning the dog pens about 2-3 days out of the week. If i was lucky i was bathing and or working with the dogs. They basically took advantage of the students there. This was back in 2016 so this may have changed. They even treated the person instucting me so horribly aswell. thankfully they are no longer there. as for the care of the dogs, i was concerned for their well being as the facility had a box with meds that were NOT specified to be for dogs so i found that super sktechy. again this was back in 2016 so hopefully they have changed for the better.

Thank you Donna Carter. Now what my son is saying makes much more sense. He said he had gotten a new job recently but really didn't elaborate. After reading your post I did a little digging and found out a few things that if true tend to make me more than a little upset at the treatment he has received at the behest of the director of the Paws Center. First, let me explain that my son loved his job there, but he loved the animals more. A quick look of his Facebook page will confirm this fact. He is enrolled in the Veterinary Assistant program at Lorenzo Walker and carries AP classes at the High School. So when, after some digging I discover that a puppy's leg was broken on his shift, when only he and one other person were present, I find it curious that he got the blame without a fact finding by the adults in charge. What further bothers me is the young lady who was the only other one present when this happened has a personal relationship of some sort with the director. And finally, I have been told that the Director of Paws has been in contact with my son's teacher at Lorenzo and claimed he was at first fired, then he resigned, then No, he WAS fired. I plan on contacting the school next week to get to the bottom of this. Bottom line, this is no way to instill honesty and moral values in today's youth. Someone should be ashamed.

PAWS Assistance Dogs brings smiles and happiness to the lives of the many men, women and children they serve in the Naples community. Most of their service dogs work to support disabled veterans, but they also work with children and other groups as well. They're a 501C3 Non-Profit based in Naples, Florida. If you have the opportunity to work with them, jump on it! Great people, great dogs, great mission.

Are you looking for dogs? My wife rescues dogs and we have a 2 yr old choc lab mix that may be perfect.

Thank you Dale for your generosity! Our training program begins when our pups arrive at 8 weeks old. They then make their journey through the training program for approximately 2 1/2 years until they are ready to meet their match. For this reason, we do not take in any rescues as we hand pick each pup that joins our program from reputable breeders so that we can predict the temperament and disposition of each Golden PAWS Service Dog and then start the puppies at 8 weeks. Again, thank you for your offer!
