Amazing and beautiful park to take a stroll around the lake. The restrooms are clean and parking is very easy. The hiking is very easy around the lake with the broad-walk around the lake. It is a great place for canoeing or kayaking where there are different boats. Lots of wildlife and gators to see around. There are different campgrounds to camp. Beautiful park to visit.

Our two person trip, A four and a half hour trip kayaking from Sergeant's Park to trout Creek was quite an adventure. A lot of obstacles to overcome and one area we had to get out of the kayak and push it under a log and get back in. Very good flow even though the water was quite low the first of March. Several 10 to yes 14' Gators. Most Small but still got our attention. Beautiful birds and river changed from wide to almost creek like. It's an adventure just be prepared to go with the flow.

Small little park, great for canoeing or kayaking but still provides a nice little boardwalk/trail to walk around the lake. Lots of gators & wildlife to be seen. worth checking out! :)

It's a very beautiful park, as well as a good entrance onto the Old Fort King Trail. However, the side trails besides the boardwalk are slightly harder to walk on than others in the area. I almost tripped multiple times on the uneven ground and roots. Put a caution sign or something like a warning. The Old Fort King Trail also has little/no benches, so be careful on how far you go. I went forward for about 2.5 miles and was dying on the way back from the lack of rest points.

There's definitely canoe rentals. But I believe it's only in between certain hours
It depends on whether you rent it by the hour or for one of their "trips" which includes a ride back. All the details are on their web site, I recommend looking there
Yep. Keep them leashed and pickup after them. You'll have a great time at the river or the trails or both! They'll have a great time too. Bring lots of water as there are no pup fountains but there are facilities where you can refill for them (and you).
There is a paved trail that starts in the park, crosses over 301 and continues on. Total distance one way is 2.4 miles. Nice views. Very wide. Shaded.
Yes. Just make sure you have the appropriate fishing license.
No.
If the water level is low then it can be more physical getting over trees and sand banks. You'll love it.
