Mice! Mice! Mice! Please do something about the mice in the complex. I see per the other reviews we are not the only ones. Also please have the maintenance men have covers over there shoes when entering our homes. Outside is dirty and our homes are sacred. They have nice things at the leasing office every once and a while. And the pool area is nice. My plates were stolen and work car was broken into. Pretty quite neighborhood otherwise. Close to the interstate. Cheapest complex in area.

I am leaving this review, because I have a family member living on the property. My Mother has lived at Doncaster Village Apartments for several years. Let's start with the positive. Overall the property is located in a quiet neighborhood, they have a great pool, (no gym, no club house) and a great school is located across the street. Let's move onto the negative The property owners try to maintain the units, modernize, keep up the grounds and have some standards, but the caliber of individuals they rent to NOW has gone downhill. They're leasing to younger residents who bring bad habits with them. The property has not turned into section 8 village just yet. Give it 1 to 2 years, and it will probably be on the borderline like many other apartment communities in Baltimore County due to the mandate. We can thank the County Council members for their vote on this issue! I visited my Mom several times during the pandemic to drop off groceries and supplies, and her building wreaks of MARIJUANA. We're both vaccinated, and she wants to see her grandkids but I am not bringing my two boys (age 12 and 5) to a drug infested apartment building. They want $1500 per month in rent for residents to smell MARIJUANA. You've got to be kidding me! I want her to move to Senior housing. I asked my Mom to say something to the leasing office, but she indicated that complaining about issues to the leasing office does not lead to any immediate action. The responsibility is placed on the resident to police their own building. What is the point of having people sign a lease if CRC does not enforce the policies set forth. The lack of accountability and transparency is the biggest problem on the property.

I like Doncaster Village but as of right now, I am extremely disappointed. This community has an extremely bad problem with mice. I had to have maintenance come to my apartment twice to close holes in it but the mouse issue seems to never go away and I had to use my own money to buy an effective to fix issue. Even though I caught it, I’m nervous that more mice will enter my apartment. I wish Doncaster Village would address the problem of how mice are getting in their buildings but it seems that us residents are left to fend for ourselves.

Seriously an excellent place to live. I stayed on the top floor. Apartment/layout is clean with modern appliances. A lot of apartments have in room washer/dryer but they are working on renovating the ones that don't too. Each building has 2 communal washer/dryers in the basement floor so it's convenient either way. I've lived here for ~2.5 years, and in that time have had had two minor incidents of maintenance work (sink water line/toilet leak) that were addressed the day I reported it. Doncaster Village does a really good job with resident screening as well. All of my neighbors are polite and quiet. Location is ideal, it's peaceful with grocery/restaurants 1-2 miles away. The office administrative are friendly and always happy to talk. Good people manage the place. Whenever I invite people over, they are impressed with the place and say it's nice. If you're looking to rent in Parkville, stay here.

Questions & Answers

Looking to move in a new apt in 6 mos and considering visiting this one. Are there certain apt buildings with pest problems? Has the community/property managers taken action on people's concerns? What's the neighborhood like?

No pest issues that I'm aware of. Yes, as soon as you report any issues, they take care of them. They hold lots of community events for the residents. Most people are very friendly. As you can imagine with any place, a few snakes slip through the cracks. There is no public bus line out this way, thank God. Been here almost a year and am pleased with the community, thus far. The apartments, for the most part, are pretty sound proof. Loud parties aren't tolerated, at least not in my building. They have townhouses, also.
