I voluntarily admitted myself to detox from alcohol. I was in unit 34 for four days until I discharged myself feeling much better. They gave me Ativan along with other meds for withdrawal symptoms. Other than the uncomfortable beds, it was a pleasant stay. Decent food as well. Special thanks to Greg the tech for all the help.

If you seek an outstanding outpatient program led by liscensed therapists who will make your recovery journey insightful, productive and memorable look no further than Windmoor Healthcare. The entire staff is more than kind and passionate about helping others achieve their goals. The psychiatrists are available everyday to discuss your medication needs.I will always remember the hours I spent here and I cried when it was my time to leave. There is genuine support, hope and healing offered at Windmoor if you are willing to embrace it.

Currently holding my husband who went in for opiate detox willingly, NO DCF, DOC, Baker Act or other government involvement prisoner against his will. Therapist or Administrator David flat out lies. Dr Armor undermedicates and knows nothing about opiate withdrawal. HOLDING PATIENTS PRISONER! Run fast from this place.

I was a patient twice in your facility the last one being from 10/26/2018 through 11 /01/2018 . Was treated well in the beginning but was put through some uncomfortable treatment almost at the end. Was hit from behind by someone and sent supposedly to largo medical center. Afterward was put to the IOP program for a few weeks and was comfortable with the staff and other patients. I feel the staff and everyone else did a great job. Currently I would like to return but my doctor will not allow it. But the whole experience was mostly pleasant.

I went to Windmoor and it was a wonderful experience. Between the kindness and compassion of the staff as well as the knowledge and efficiency of the therapists, psychiatrists, counselors I was able in 30 days to shift from a state of complete despair to one of hope and willingness. Windmoor is the landmark of my path to recovery. Now I take meetings to Windmoor. Been doing it for 2 years and I witness the same caring and dedication that I witnessed while being a patient there. friends went there as well and def agree with my opinion. I met people who hated Windmoor: those are the same individuals who claim they want recovery but are not willing to do the necessary work. I just read the other comments and they are hilarious. I like the possessed one the best especially when the author adds: I may have some problems... 😂
Probably not
What do you mean
Yes. Hospitals will always admit but with no insurance may transfer to PEMS or other intake facility serving patients with no insurance.
My fiance is the one who is in Windmoor. I tried to call yesterday but did not know what unit he was in
Yes! Make sure you know the unit number of the person you are visiting. Visitation is 6-8PM M-F and 2-4 Sat & Sun.
Yes, my mother calls me all day long while I’m at work.
Yes. Windmoor is so lovely and helpful. The nurses are very nice and the groups they have you go to are very inspiring. It is good for detox, they help you detox with the help of meds if needed
No I don't have dr. Shaw's phone number but I would like it. Thank you please send it to me
Windmoor is not the place for your love one to open ,
can you bring in a cell and can you smoke and bring a tablet to play games on it.
You can look up public Housing Association in Tarpon Springs that's where I went after I got out but I'm still on a waiting list for transitional housing and Section 8 the one to five-year waiting list
Windmoor Healthcare accepts some Medicaid HMOs but not straight Medicaid.
