Had to try this spot it was recommended to us, it was worth the wait. I definitely recommend going very early to request a table so u get a call back quicker they are very popular/ crowded with limited seating. My favorite is the bone marrow dish with egg& fries but we still tried the burgers this time 👍🏻 definitely coming back soon

I love this place! Honestly is the best hamburger I have ever tried!! I’m very picky with hamburgers and this is a solid 10. The single burger comes with 2 meats so that’s a lot! I recommend adding the extra of egg and bacon because it’s so good you wont regret it! The hamburger is huge so you could easily get fries and share fries and the burger with someone else. This place is always busy but it’s worth the wait trust me. The French fries are a must as well, it’s pricey like 10 bucks for just the fries but it is worth it. For the single burger and the fries you’ll spend around 40 dollars. I came twice when I was in Chicago! Loved it!

If this isn't the best burger around, it has to be close. I always enjoy this burger - two or three thin patties, topped with bacon, an egg, and some of their special sauce. It's juicy, incredibly flavored, and a pleasure to eat. Their carmelized bacon is some of the best I've had. Top it off with their fries and it's a fantastic and filling meal - worth the wait!

Best Burger Ever!! Go with egg and bacon on a single (which has 2 Pattie’s). Double burger (which has 3 Pattie’s) is not necessary. Au Cheval special sauce is extraordinary. Craft beer selection on draft was impressive. We came during the day to check if it was as good as our night time visits. Sat at a booth with sun poring in. Previously we sat at bar after being out elsewhere. Au Cheval is an excellent night cap. Very friendly staff.

You'll be fine if you show up earlier before you're hungry. Put your name down and they'll text you updates. You can walk around and go to bars around the area while you wait.
Hayk's answer seems correct. In my review, I said get there early like 9 am if your interested in lunch.
Be prepared to wait more than an hour
Nope. You could probably take a doggy bag, in the unlikely event that you don't devour it all.
It's hard for a place that's as busy as Au Cheval to take custom off menu orders. Doesn't hurt to ask though. Make sure you get it with a fried egg at least!
You can getit at The bar inmmediaty
No its a diner but alcoholic beverages are served. Think of it as a Chili's or Friday's. Families with small children were eating there.
Not sure but if they are expect a 4 hour wait.......
I'd say no unless they are older and like sitting. It is a bar/grill, darker lighting, and the tables are very close together.
There aren't any reservations and the average wait time is 2 to 3 hours. Enjoy!
Probably not, they have pretty limited seating, but it would be a good idea to call and ask them.
If your lucky, you can find some free street parking a couple blocks away.
Nope, their closed, same on New Year's.
1.5 to 2 hrs. And yes hopefully the is an opening at the bar.
We will not be open Christmas Eve or Christmas Day, definitely the days before and after!
No, you could place two reservations of 6 but there is no guarantee you all will sit near each other.
Yes, i would always expect a minimum 1 hour wait. Often 2-3 hours.
Also dont listen to Patrick, Kuma's corner is much worse than Au Cheval. Their burger patties themselves have no taste.
Not really but you can call ahead and put yourself "in line" for a table so you don't have as long of a wait when you arrive.
No age restrictions, but mostly adult crowd here. My kids loved it though.
No reservations at Au Cheval. When you wall in, in person, you can put your name in the waitlist with your name/number and give you an ETA. Generally speaking, it can get pretty packed there, so keep that in mind with your day plans, if you want to venture out to check out the place
To me it did. The wait sucks but it was perfectly seasoned and the bacon is thick. It's thick pork belly and not the usual crispy bacon you get. It's also just slightly more expensive than "gourmet burgers" so for me it was worth it. Get it with the egg too.
Or just go to Small Cheval which doesn’t confine you to the limited spaced chic diner environment but still has the same great tasting food
