Could never pass up a free campground on my cross country bike tour. No water source here. Buy what you need in Louisburg. It wasn’t crowded here on July 4th but it was a really hot day so who else would primitive camp if there were other options? Good T-Mobile signal here. Very quiet. Nice lake.

So this was our first camping trip I believe, ever. All girls, and we landed on this location for the picking. It didn't disappoint, I had read reviews and looked over quite a few different camping locations that are primitive. To get to the sites couldn't be easier, they're in plain sight as you roll up, plenty of spaces between them, and all lakeside. Talk about a viewable treat. The lake is swimmable as well as being able to fish or catch bullfrogs?!?? That's a thing! Very peaceful, relaxing and fun. Clean sites for the most part, cleaned up the ones that weren't. Worth the visit. So pretty. We were able to see all the planets in alignment with the moon this weekend. Talk about blissfully grateful. One small downfall was we weren't able to locate any walking trails which would have topped the whole trip off.

I had a girls trip here for the first time! This place is GORGEOUS!!! It was so easy to set up, find a place and enjoy our weekend!! People do like to party here, there was lots of empty beer bottles and random trash throughout ( napkins, food wrappers and men's underwear, trimming from a pets haircut.. ) mostly up by the vaulted bathroom. Which is GREAT they provide, but not a very kempt area. They have a dock for boating, fire pits, picnic tables and beautiful scenery. I'll be back, for sure! That was the best time I've had in a long time!!

I went to the lake this week and found it to be an enjoyable experience. The boat dock and ramp was small but big enough for me and my small boat. There was a small area for camping which was nearly full, so people were enjoying it and the outhouse was clean. That is unusual for Kansas.

I dont think swimming is allowed but I do believe dogs are allowed, possibly restricted to being on a leash maybe...
Yes. Using state regulations of course. Don't leave them for more than 24 hours
No
Boats- yes As Erik said (canoes & kayaks don't need to be licensed) and if your name is Paul Janasz...
no limitations
I doubt it, no. It's a state fishing lake with a handful of primitive camping sites on the north and south sides. No running water, and pit toilets.
All sites are first come first served basis. Has pit toilets, but no water.
yes you can. good lake to fish as well never had a bad day there.
