I must add, the resort is a destination in and of itself......my kid loved playing and catching crawdad's in the spring fed creek running through the property and also playing with newly made friends at the super clean pool and in the game room. Can't wait to go back!

The hospitality was awesome. Nice quiet and clean place. The sheets are awesome. Thank you for a great stay. We will be staying here again.

Facts: it is a small cabin. It has a range, full-sized refrigerator and a microwave. The appliances are old but they work very well. They were also incredibly clean, i did not find a crumb or speck of food on any of them, not the fridge, oven, microwave, etc. It was as if i had cleaned them myself. I was very impressed with that. They have 2 lb bags of ice available for sale at the little office in front. It is cheaper than the store down the road. The store down the road does have 4 lb bags, if you need more than 2 lbs at a time. The owner was very nice and accommodating. Check-in process was easy and extremely pleasant! They do require a 3-night minimum stay on holiday weekends. Very peaceful setting on a winding road. The cabin is on a crawl space and it is laid out like a duplex so you can hear your neighbors stomp, cough and talk on the other side of the walls. Our neighbors were quiet and barely at their cabin. I did feel sorry for them, however, because i used my blender for my smoothies every morning and my spouse is a heavy walker and constant cougher. We were probably very loud and annoying to them 😩. The kitchen is very small with limited counter space to cook and prep. There are 32" between the lower cabinets and the fridge, so there is only room for one person in the kitchen. Limited pots and pans, no large knives to cut anything (like a santoku or chef's knife) except for a few steak knives, no cutting board. The pots don't fit the pans well, so smoke detectors went off with even the steam from boiling noodles. I realize most people eat sandwiches, grill or go to a restaurant when they are on vacation but if you meal prep or have food allergies and need to prepare your own food, be prepared. The dish towels were clean and freshly washed, they still smelled of detergent when we got there. There was about 1/4 roll of paper towels already in the kitchen and i noticed a box of foil on top of the cabinets. I brought my own foil tho. The bedroom is very small, also. The door latch on the door frame is installed backwards, so the door doesn't shut. If i'd had a screwdriver i would've installed it correctly. The paint in the room was poorly done. The room measures 87"Wx138"L.There is a very narrow passage on either side of the Queen bed bed. It was tight for us and we are small folks. If you are 6' or taller or a large, wide person, it might be inconvenient for you. My spouse was miserable on the bed, I'm not sure why, but the bed was very comfortable for me and the bed linens were freshly washed, you could smell the detergent on them. The bed was soft and i slept really well each night with no complaints. To each his own. The shower in cabin 15 might be a huge problem for anyone over 4'10". The shower head pipe is installed at a height of 65 1/4" in the fiberglass shower stall, not up above it in the drywall where it should be. That means the shower head and the actual stream hits me at chest height at about 61 1/2". I am 66" tall (5'5"). If you want to wash your hair you need to sit on the shower stall floor, lie down in it, or bend way over. It is very inconvenient. If i were the owners, i would re-route that pipe and patch the fiberglass (Soggy Bottom Bathtub Repair) so that the shower head is in the drywall well above the fiberglass stall. They have a nice pool that goes to 6', i think. It's small but it was clean. There is a bathroom out at the pool, also. Also, there is spotty to no cell service in a large part of that region. You will receive random telephone calls and text messages in the cabin but you can't dial out easily. Wifi-enabled calling is a must. They do provide free WiFi and a small TV, if you want to be a couch potato. The channel guide is on Channel 16.

My SO and I, along with a 2 yr old and 2 month old, just stayed at Spring Valley and we enjoyed everything about it! The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating from the time I made the reservation (extremely last minute) to the time we left the resort. The cabin was very clean and cozy, with plenty of room for my 2 yr old to play. It was very well stocked with all essentials and every appliance was clean and ready to be used. The owners were there throughout the day and late into the evening working nonstop maintaining the grounds and making sure every customer was taken care of. I made a couple of trips to the office for miscellaneous reasons (my cabin was right next to the office so I chose the walk instead of calling) and Barb was always there and quickly and efficiently helped with whatever I needed. We didn't use the pool, but it looked extremely clean and my son absolutely loved the play area next to it. I could not be more pleased with our stay and how well we were treated by the owners. They are great people and Spring Valley is a great resort. We will definitely be back!
