Great place to stop off when you are filling up at the gas tank at the same time. Killing 2 birds with one stone. This Safeway is much bigger and masks and social distancing (self discipline) are required during the pandemic/lockdown. Folks are generally more friendly and relaxed. It's another world unless you work there, I'm sure.

Clean, cold at late night, not 24 hours anymore 😑. Witnessed 4 teens walk out of the store with stolen liquor then jump into a parked car close to the exit, nobody bothered to stop them as they laughed around whilst running, a concerned shopper had to scare them by taking pictures of their car but the teens just taunted him back. 12:30am months ago.

This Safeway is simply massive! I like that there is always a huge variety of items in every category. The produce section, in particular, has some great items. Safeway, as a chain, can be a little pricey, but it is really one of the cheapest grocery store options in Alameda, as we don't have the benefit of a nice local grocery store like Berkeley Bowl. Seriously, you cannot go wrong with anything in this store, and the selection and sheer size are huge positives.

I love the Safeway gas station. Its laid out so well with tons of space. Its always very clean! Pumps are always well maintained. Not to mention the gas is always less expensive than other gas stations.
