At this point, they need to start hiring as the current employees are not capable. This state and this agency are an absolute joke. When you need state assistance, that the state offers, told it'll take 3 weeks only for it to take MONTHS for it to even "process" then additional MONTHS for a live person to reach out cause god knows you cant reach them. Good thing these people aren't doctors. Its sad when its already hard to ask for help and they practically make you beg for it. Disgusting EDIT: I was able to get some correspondence when asking about the eligibility interview here is a small portion of their response "It is taking minimum of 27 weeks from the date 9/30/21 an interview is requested for it to be scheduled. The EDD will schedule you a telephone interview to resolve an issue of eligibility." So hopefully you're in a position to to not end up homeless while you wait.

this is so outrageous, i have been calling for weeks and no matter what its always to busy to answer and i get hung up on. I cannot get into my online because it says info doesn't match which makes no sense. After calling 5 times in a row right before and after opening every time it said to busy and hung up and the first time i experimented going through in spanish BOOM i got in first try with only a 2 minute wait time. Can anyone explain such a corrupt and outrageous occurrence? Especially because i worked many years paying into this and need to collect for a short time while i finish school and yet can't get any assistance and blocked unless i speak spanish apparently

COMPLETELY HORRIBLE FOR THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO ALLOW THIS. I now have 15 weeks in pending status and have not received any communication as to why. The message states it has ramped up to handle calls and another message says they are receiving more calls than they can handle. The hours are supposed to be 8am - 8pm, I called at 7:30pm and the message said they are closed. Millions of Californians are in desperate need of their benefits but are not getting any assistance. The Governor is giving away millions in Vaccination incentives but benefits are not processed in a timely manner.

What you can do is call this number (833)978- 2511 once they say to choose a language press 1 then press # sign right away if they say thank you for calling hang up and then do again until you hear a women's voice saying all our representative are busy wait for the next available representative then you will hear the music that means your in. Easiest way is to log in to UI online, but create/register for an SDI account under SDI tab and at the end of that process you will get your EDD account number. Then you can register your UI claim and certify for benefits and see you claim status and payments. I waited for a month to get mail and nothing, and good luck getting through on the phones, I found that loophole on Reddit of all places! Good luck

No you don't one just walk in and make sure you wear a face mask it os required. Walk in and ask the employee or security guard for information.

I've had the same experience I called them from the Workforce Development Office in been hung up twice I've left messages no response something needs to be done
