Dropping off my household hazardous waste (old paint cans, used antifreeze & motor oil, fluorescent lights) could not have been simpler or more pleasant. In these times when everything seems so stressful & difficult, this crew was a breath of fresh air. I wish anything else was this easy & seamless!

They will accept up to 5 tires max, no rims. The reuse store is open. You don't need an appointment to drop off but you have to drive through and get checked in. You also have to be a resident of Thousand Oaks or certain unincorporated areas of Ventura County. They will unload your things and determine what can be put in the reuse store. There are certain things that aren't allowed. You should check the city's website before loading your car and making the trip.
I believe this is open for residents of Thousand Oaks and unincorporated areas of Ventura County only.
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility does not accept VHS tapes. However, you do have some options. Items in a reusable condition or working order can be advertised through a free community exchange scheme such as CalMAX – California Materials Exchange, Craigs List or Freecycle. Many social media platforms, such as Facebook and NextDoor, have their own sales and donation portals for items you no longer want. We hope this information helps and thank you for helping keep our city clean.
The facility does not accept tires, unfortunately. You can check out our website https://www.toaks.org/hhw to see what materials are accepted
