This place has been going down hill fast. Every time I order a to go order it is messed up. Tonight I found I nice piece of saran wrap between my pork chop and the breading. Last straw. Will never eat at this restaurant again.

This was my first visit to this location in St. Charles. Upon the first greeting the server began to express how short they were in servers, furthermore, the restaurant was not very crowded at all. My friend and I did not have to wait long before we received our breakfast. I ordered the Grandma's Breakfast Meal. It included 3 meats, a scrambled eggs, 2 pancakes, and hash browns or apples. I chose bacon and ham, scrambled eggs, and 2 pancakes 🥞. My bacon 🥓 was very fatty, the ham was dry, however, the scrambled eggs and pancakes were delicious 😋. I may give this particular one more try to redeem themselves before I make a decision to go somewhere else. Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. I look forward to beginning my day with a hearty meal.

With much regret, our experience at one of our favorite restaurants was horrendous. The service was less than desirable and food was cold. I’m not sure why context clues weren’t used, but the butter on the pancakes was not melting, that’s a clear indication that something is not right. My daughter’s egg scramble was Luke warm, we had to ask 6 times for some honey before we got it, and the tea cups were dirty. We had to ask someone to clean the chairs that were simply filthy, and wait for the booster seat and high chair that we requested when we checked in upon arrival. When I mentioned to the server that my eggs were cold and had shells in them, he stated, “…if I made them, they would have been perfect,” instead of offering a solution. I told him I didn’t want the eggs, his response was that they are still a part of the meal. Again, not a solution to the problem. It was a very disappointing experience that makes me rethink returning to this location. One final note, I understand that they may have been short staffed, countless companies are experiencing the same set back, but they are willing to learn how to adapt to overcome. I hope things get better.

Nice, quiet place to get rest and peace. Stayed for 5 nights. Bar and restaurant staff were awesome.

As an employee and a host of Cracker Barrel most people think you can “reserve” if you call but we just write down your name and the number of your party and when you get to the restaurant we put your name on the list and try and find tables to accommodate your party. Most people that have called before have the impression that if you call that is a reservation but it is not it’s just a heads up for the hostess/host and serves
They will not alliw overnight parking in their parking lot. As Michael Brueckmann stated, there is a RV park very close that you can park at that you can go down Veterans to 5th street, follow to Booneslick and turn right onto that road. Follow to 2nd street, turn left onto and follow to Tecumseh. Turn right & follow. You'll see the sign to where to turn into the park. However, if you take the roundabout half way and go across thru lights (over Hwy 70) to stop sign.Turn right and you'll see large parking area. Follow road straight until you see Aldi's to your left. Parking area toward back area on right often has RV and Semi's parking there. But think your best bet is the RV park as you can do hook ups there. It's family owned. I knew the family as a child. They are very nice & will treat you very well. It's clean and peaceful. Hope you enjoy your time in St. Charles. Cracker Barrel is a great place to eat, hope you have a chance to go to Main Street to see historic sights!
I'm not completely sure, but you can try it out.
In the restaurant, every other table was empty. All employees wore masks. Gift shop was a bit crowded but people were aware & moved away or stepped outside. Outdoor was also available.
Hmm, why wouldn't you call? Oh yeah, this generation doesn't know these are phones you can talk on...
They are a home style restaurant not an Internet café. Having a meal as a family should be without electronics which is how it used to be and is considered home style. This is just my opinion though.
