We came to the park for the return of the annual Strauss Festival, after a 2 year absence. There's a $10 entrance fee, if, on the honor system, one says their going in for the festival. This year's theme was Alice in Wonderland. From ages 7 to elderly senior, all our family enjoyed the outing. At the end their was a brief fireworks display. There are always fun activities in this very large park, which makes it a great place for the community to come and hang out. I'm sure we'll be back soon.

I’ve grown up going to this park. It’s always been great - well taken care of with a variety of activities. If I lived closer, I’d be coming all the time. I’ve lived all over the Sac region, and I feel the CSD Parks division is top class. All Elk Grove parks are always in great condition. I’m not sure if they still manage the Emerald Lakes golf course, but that was always a great place too. Thanks for keeping this park open, looking great, and enjoyable. I loved coming here as a kid and can’t wait to take my kids here too!

Our family had a Juneteenth picnic there and it was perfect! This was my first time there and it's so pretty! We had 40 people and I was able to reserve three huge tables with two bbq pits. We had a great time. And the park is just lovely. Some people were fishing! And they have a pool. We plan to go back and enjoy it again.

Ive used lures here as akid ...
It is called Jerry Fox swimming center. I think you can find it under the wackford swim center on csd website.
It's not free
If you are under 16 years of age you can fish for free otherwise you need a fishing licence.
Camache Lake
Yes they have stocked the lake with fish and yes you need a fishing license to fish. Have lots of fun...
Fishing season end for the year on November 30th. Largemouth bass, rainbow trout and channel catfish are what I've seen caught You must have a CA fishing license. Limit is two fish, ant species. You must use bait-- no lures allowed. Single, barbless hooks only. No lead whatsoever. Buy yourself some titanium weights. That said, people regularly catch decent fish here. I saw a guy pull (and release) a three pound bass here about six weeks ago. Last year I saw a young teen catch at least an eight pound catfish.
Yes
I haven't seen ant fishing activity in the park. So maybe... Or maybe not?
I don't know if they lifted the ban on fishing, but, the day that I was there I saw a guy walking to the lake with fishing equipment.
No, but there is a lot of remote controlled sailboats out there.
Probably not
There is no ban yet-- but one is likely before summer. Ducks and geese are being injured and killed by fishing line. It's intended to be a temporary ban while they consult with Fish & Game and other municipalities to try to identify solutions-- which might include seasonal closures or requiring licenses. I understand the dilemma. I saw a very excited youngster pull a 6 - 8 lb. catfish out of the east side of the pond last weekend. I've taken my niece and nephew fishing there. I also really enjoy the water fowl (there seems to be a resident wood duck pair that frequent the north side of the pond). We are walking to the pond this morning to watch the RC boating club sail their model boats on the east side of the pond. So many uses for the pond-- it's a community treasuy, to be sure. Park management says they will be seeking public input during the moratorium. I'd watch the local papers and web sites to find out how to make your concerns known to them. Correction. Saw 8 wood ducks today
No, just go grab a table.
Always
I personally would secure the dog inside with fan, water & some kind of ambient noise
Yes
Not today
